Cahuil beatiful

Cahuil has a beatiful place to visit with the family. Yo can actually see how they harvest the salt. Just amazing.

The peaceful country landscape changes from a blue river flowing quietly to a white-gray salty marsh with flocks of different birds including ducks, geese, and swans which attract your attention and make you take photo after photo. There is a fair nearby where you can buy salt in sacks or gourment savoured salts and honeys and curious handcrafted souvenirs. You... More

If you're in Pichilemu, Cahuil is a nice place to go. Located at no more than 30 minutes from Pichilemu, this is a quiet place where you can watch the process of the salt and how people work in there. There's not a lot to see there apart from the people working in here and the beautiful nature surrounding Cahuil,... More

Very nice route following the different natural pools where they produce artisanally salt (starting in November when water starts to evaporate). You will see many birds too.

I was there just in time to see how the salt was created, everything is very rural and nice, the people is very kind and friendly, you have to take your car and you can spend some time in the Cahuil river which is also very nice.

If you have one day in Pichilemu it´s definitely worth a little detour past the punta de lobos surf spot to the Barrancas salt winning area. We didn´t do an entire ´ruta´, we just went straight to this place. But the road from Pichilemu to this place is alreay very nice. From Punta de Lobos it´s a 15 minute ride... More

. Theirs is the best. Great local business... support it! WE went to the Salt Co op. They were great for photo ops. Salt was tasty. We bought 6 kgs for about $5. Wish I had brought some fresh tomatoes to go with them!

You must take a ride to Cahuil. Dont even bother going all the way to Bucalemu, just allow plenty time to enjoy the ride along the lake, take as may pictures as you can from swans, ducks, donkeys, horses, beautiful trees and stop in the salt mine by the end, where you can see grumpy old men scraping the salt... Truly great trip worthily a detour. We decided to go to las salinas at Cahuil: you reach it via a dirty road totally manageable on a regular car. Stunning views! Note: make sure you drive further after the first artisanal point to get the best views and a fantastic wallboard in the middle of the fjord
