One time visit is required if you are nearby otherwise nothing much to explore. This is about 2-3 kms inside the main road.

Located on a hill with climb able stairs opposite the gomateshwar statue. There are four idols of tirthankaras and hence the name. The pillars carved are exquisite. No two pillars have the same carving. Free entry. No local guides. The inner sanctum is not accessible....More

This is a old temple very near to the gomateswara temple not in use now. ASI is taking care of this. No fee is there.

We did not actually stay in Karkal, we stayed at Mangalore and drove down to Karkal and finished our sight-seeing all around. I felt it was better that way.

Opening time I am not sure but it closes at 5.30 PM sharp.No body will be allowed after 5.30PM.
