The temple is called Kannuadaiyanayaki temple and the deity is Goddess Kannathal. This temple is very popular in this region and many festivals like chariot etc are very popular. Must visit if you visit this region

The temple of Kannaathaal (famous for answers to prayers related to eye diseases) is well known for Pongal Time as nearly 1000 families get together and do simultaneous Pongal here..the front mandap is a treasure of architecture.
