About
Located in the northern suburbs of Canberra, Westfield Belconnen was the largest shopping centre in the southern hemisphere when it opened in 1978 and is still one of Canberra's biggest. Affectionately known as ‘Belconnen Mall,’ the centre is located 13 kilometres from the Canberra CBD. Westfield Belconnen is home to some of Australia’s favourite retailers including Myer, Harris Scarfe, Kmart, Target, Coles, Woolworths and ALDI. The centre also boasts a Sky Zone and a range of other retailers including approximately 65 apparel, footwear and accessories stores.

I've been a long time customer and visited the Westfield Belconnen many times over the past 25 years. The parking was free to public after 6:00pm. I am now told that the policy was changed sometimes last year and the benefit now available to Westfield plus members only. I was unaware of this new policy and as a result I overstayed by about 30mins and was charged $7.00. I called the parking staff via buzzer who advised me of this change of policy in relation to after 6pm free parking. I then joined the membership and informed the parking staff. However, I was still charged the late fee.
The parking staff informed me that the new policy is displayed at the entrance. C'mon, do you really expect the public to stop at the entrance gate every time to read the lengthy terms & conditions to become aware of the changes to parking policy! Is this practical or even acceptable to block the traffic to read all the fine print?
They also made me wait at the parking lot for a lengthy period for the security guard to arrive and my family was also in the car in the cold Canberra weather. Top notch customer service, isn't it!
How greedy & dubious is that! Very unethical business practice and appalling customer service. The staff insisted me on paying the late fee despite I told them that I had just joined the membership via their app. I am now having a second thought about associating myself with such business and considering relinquishing my Westfield plus membership.

PARKING costs - an absolute joke - give this mall a miss
Here’s a comparison of what you can expect to pay for parking across Canberra on a Sunday arvo in November:
Woden - FREE
Tuggeranong - FREE
City - $2
Belconnen - $25!!!!!!!!!!
After spending nearly $500 of my hard earned cash, I was hit with $25 for parking, on a Sunday!!!!!
The ticketless parking barriers don’t provide time to review the rates - if they did I would have headed straight to the city - like I will next time I shop (i.e. next Sunday)

Westfield Belconnen pretty much has it all. The 3 level shopping centre has a huge variety of stores including Coles, Woolworths and Aldi. The range of retail clothing outlets is vast including some high end retail stores such as Cue. There is a good range of restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a Cinema and Games room for the kids. The Food Court, although not my favourite, has a large selection of cuisines including McDonalds. The only thing missing is David Jones, which you can find at Woden or Civic. The parking is by car plate recognition and you have 2 free hours; after that there is a small fee. Well worth the visit for an all round shopping experience.

Having visited nearly all Westfields in Sydney, we were surprised and delight to find Westfield Belconnen is big and relax place to browse around. While most shopping centers have a "Food Court" area, you can find restaurants/cafes as you walk along Westfields Belconnen from floor to floor. Good varieties of shops to browse around. It would be great if 3 hours free parking is available.

As a disable driver of multi cars as their web site states see the Concierge to show your disable permit and they will enter the details of the permit and cars. The staff entered one of the cars and refused to enter other cars and inappropriately made faces at me. I responded your web states you can lodge the other car details in here at the Concierges' desk. The staff also said each time I returned with a different car I had to go to the Concierges' desk with my disable permit. Another staffer said we are making it easier. I said it is no different from before. The staff called security and the response from other disable person waiting at the desk said the chap can hardly stand or walk what a joke Westfield are. I was meet by two security and I asked for management. Paul from management came and in discussion it was obvious the Concierge staff did not know what was on their web site, they lied they could not enter my other cars in the computer. As directed by the Concierge staff when I tried at home to enter my car details in I could not. I called my cousin an computer engineer he could not enter the other cars as their was some wrong with their web site. I called Westfield and another Supervisor was able to enter the details from their side. According to Paul what the Concierge staff told me was incorrect. I asked Paul about using my other cars and parking and he had no idea so he would ask the programmers and get back to me on Monday 17th/10/2016 he never did. The parking for disable is poor at Westfield in discussion with Paul it was clear to me the disable driver is the forgotten ones and they cater for the able person quick turn over shopping person. In Hawaii in a row of 16 cars at each end, their are two disable parks in the major shopping centres and being disable you are treated with respect. Here what I experienced unprofessional behaviour, the Westfield staff at all levels lack or no knowledge of their web site or the rollout of their new parking arrangements and it has been poorly thought out.

Good variety of stores, parking is limited to two hours. If you go to the movies you get extra time, but you have to get a special validated ticket before you leave.

Hello and thank you for leaving us a review. We do offer 2 hours free parking and an additional 2 hours of free parking with cinema validation. Parking is also free with entry after 6pm.

This is mostly a typical Westfield with the usual stores but I had to give a shoutout to the Dobinsons Bakery branch here because I love their pastries! This is the only branch apart from their main store in Canberra Centre so it was a lovely surprise to just happen to come upon it!
