The Ashridge Estate consists of 5,000 acres of woodland, chalk downlands and meadows. You can walk for miles and see a variety of wildlife such as Fallow deer and Muntjacs as well as the more common, foxes, badgers, squirrels etc.

We have a well-stocked shop at our visitor centre, as well as toilets and a non-NT cafe, which serves hot meals all day long.

If you need help when you arrive you will find a helpful volunteer on the reception desk who can point you in the right direction.

Beautiful family walk

We love going to Ashridge regularly. Now it's rutting season the sights are amazing. Then head to the cafe after for a hot chocolate and bacon roll. Great place all year round!

Another beautiful natural place where to unwind with family, friends or just for a solo stroll! The cafè has plenty of gluten free choices but very little vegan food. The shop is very welcoming and regularly displays info about seasonal and local events linked with the estate. Highly recommended.

This is the most beautiful woods with a variety of trees, well trodden paths and a wonderful cafe. There are many dens and magnificent fallen trees for the children, deer and the springtime delight of beds of blue bells. We moved to the area to be close to this wonderful wild wood and never regretted!!

Every year that I am home from the US going to see the Bluebells is a must, the Easter Egg hunt is also a great adventure.

Parking is free which is a good thing, do thing charging for the tower is poor but I would image its the cost of the upkeep, very good view from the top. after the tower we walked which gave us the good job that the trust is doing a good the woods and paths. When we returned to the centre... More

We had a great day out at Ashridge first the restaurant is bust but an amazingly wide menu of choices for a National Trust property. It's busy but busy because people love the food that is obvious. The view from the Monument are amazing and 360° views. There's footpaths for walking, good shop, plenty of parking. (Not easy to reach... More

We came out to the estate for breakfast and a walk with the dog. The cafe food was so fresh and good and very reasonably priced. The scone presentation was awesome! We had a great walk in the meadow and then thru the woods. There were wood forts built in the woods, which our son loved. We would love to... More
