The Ashridge Estate consists of 5,000 acres of woodland, chalk downlands and meadows. You can walk for miles and see a variety of wildlife such as Fallow deer and Muntjacs as well as the more common, foxes, badgers, squirrels etc.

We have a well-stocked shop at our visitor centre, as well as toilets and a non-NT cafe, which serves hot meals all day long.

If you need help when you arrive you will find a helpful volunteer on the reception desk who can point you in the right direction.

Lovely cafe for breakfast lunch afternoon tea with cake. We love going for fresh air and peace. There are a wide range of walks a visitors centre for information and a shop too. Many events run throughout the year which are very well organised.

These woods are beautiful at any time of the year but are particularly stunning when the bluebells are out, usually mid to late April depending on the weather. This entire area are beautiful for walks, stunning scenery and views and a wonderful place to picnic and even an ice cream van on sunny days with free parking - it has... More

Living near by this place i think i take it for granted. If you're nearby, there is no-one who could ignore the beauty of this place nor enjoy driving/walking/visiting this place. If you go at the right time of year the bluebell woods is something else all together!!!

The title says it all! The estate encompasses the mansion which today is used for all sorts of conventions and seminars etc, but the building and estate if of historical interest and was one of King Henry V111's hunting lodges. There are some lovely walks and pubs nearby.

The woods at Ashridge are great for strolling on a sunny day. Patches of dappled sunlight, leafy glades, and bluebells just starting to emerge. There are fantastic views from the top of the monument - we saw the Shard and Wembley Stadium on the horizon. The café is excellent as well. Despite being busy, our food arrived soon after ordering... More

Fabulous walking here today, OK the sun was shining but that just made it all the better. We love Ashridge, so many paths and things to discover. Wonderful way to pass a few hours on a Sunday prior to lunch....

When we visit this National Trust location I am so envious. We have wonderful estates on our doorstep in Cheshire, but none of these have the freedom of Ashridge. We cannot picnic, except in very limited designated areas, and we are very restricted to roam due to priority being given to the resident deer.! This is a wonderful site and... More

Such a lovely place and so so much space to walk both in woodland and open with a dog friendly environment. This is a must visit and do get a 99!

We visited the Gardens to the Management Centre on a sunny but chilly day. There was a wonderful variety of wildlife including a pair of woodpeckers, bunnies and an albino deer and many beautiful plants and trees, well worth a visit although nowhere for a cup of tea this time of year.

Needed somewhere to stop for lunch on the way back to Milton Keynes from a visit in Harrow and given the M1 was a car park, this other route was a much more pleasant alternative. It is really popular, especially at the weekend and good for families who want safe, level cycling in the woods and various tracks. After lunch... More
