Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We really enjoyed our visit to La Granja and we were delighted to find that there was plenty of free parking just a short walk from the palace and gardens. The visit to the palace took something around an hour as there were many beautiful rooms to see. The ceilings in many rooms are spectacular. At points the rooms were so crowded with tour groups that we had to either wait or attempt to get past. Visitors are not permitted to take backpacks inside the palace and they have to be left in lockers. Be sure to go equipped with a 1 euro coin (which is refunded on your return.) There is strictly no photography inside the palace and this is enforced by the many security guards.
If you are just interested in the gardens, they are free and absolutely lovely. Be warned, however, that there is no cafeteria on the site, so be sure to take water with you. There are numerous fountains, but they only run on certain days at set times. The gardens are extensive and one could easily spend a whole day there.

This is a palace built in the 18th century by king Philip V who was the first king of the French dynasty to rule in Spain. The king wanted to make a Palace just like Versailles that was made by his grandfather but this one is a bit different as it was sort of disconnected .
Dont miss the glass factory visit.

Visited the palace from Segovia - just a 45 minute trip by car.

It was a Tuesday vand very quiet. Palace is huge, with many extremely ornate rooms. Extensive gardens. A very pleasant few hours.

We only went in because we thought we ought to, and I'm not really keen on tapestries - but I was bowled over! Truly magnificent with some amazing historical connections, set in a magniifcant building.

This "Little Versailles" palace, a short drive outside of Segovia, is best visited with the helpful audio guide.

We didn’t have time to visit the palace but the gardens are fantastic (if the weather is good) and you can spend easily half a day. It is worth to walk up to the large pond but kids can get a bit tired.

The Rococó is in every single piece of the place. The royal pompous touch can be seen in every courtain, window, tile, fountain, painting and pavement. Time seems to stand still and that’s what most overwhelmed me in my visit. Do not meet that place if you visit La Granja. 👑

Stunning palace. Will not disappoint. Beautiful rooms of tapestries that are rare and in good condition. Grounds are also lovely. The fountains are gravity fed from the mountain water so each day around 530 the water is released and several fountains go off. The staff direct you to which ones will be displayed. Get there about 1/2 hour ahead as it gathers quite a crowd. There is about 10 minutes between each display so you can walk to the next fountain. The grounds take up nearly 2/3 of the property. I believe there is a fee just for the gardens or for both. You can go inside the palace during the day and get/save your ticket to come back in afternoon for the fountains.

Beautiful garden and very interesting fountain show. If someone is in Madrid, its an ideal place for a day trip. Plenty of good lunch option (nice restaurants) near to the palace.

check the fountain show calendar in advance and place your trip accordingly.
