Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Looked to be a bunch of trinkity stuff. Sure clothes and sandals too but nothing special. You can't even walk around in peace without sellers all over you. One chico even got quite snippity when I walked away without buying. Would only go back if I needed a hat real bad,

There are 2 pretty good markets in Holguin Cuba. 2 markets: the one close to Club Amigo, was a 2 min walking distance. It was a nice market with approx 25 vendors & the Pesquero market had about 18 vendors. The Pesquero market was considered a mall and has a bowling alley with pool tables but was not in use. I don’t know if it was broken or simply no one was playing. You could sit inside and have coffee. There were a few government run stores and a few stores closed. There was plenty of seating while you waited for the bus. The Pesquero market was worth the trip as it was a nice bus ride and there was some different items there. The Guardalavaca market had approx 30 vendors and some changed daily. This market is 100% worth checking out. I recommend

Really wishing the cuban artisans would bring some different items to the Market. Just so much repeat stuff of poor quality. The best are the paintings! Always unique

I can always remember asking one of the artists if he would paint a picture of my car with my licence plate on it. Also I asked him to include the court house building in Havana (I think it is called that). It arrived a few days later done professionally and I was pleased to give him the twenty dollars. The only problem was they charged me one hundred dollars to frame it back it Toronto. Oh well , it is still hanging on my wall in my bedroom.

This is a nice little market.some good souvenirs. The vendors change every couple of days. I didn't find they were as willing to negotiate thier prices in March like they were in December. It would be nice to have a more direct route there without having to take the bus that stops at all the hotels or the taxis that try to gouge you with thier price.

We thought that this would be a local market with fruits or something.

It is okay, but a small market. It is ideal to buy your souvenirs from here, it is quite cheap. Also, people are very friendly!!

I would combine the visit to this market to a visit to the beach next to it

Enjoy looking around and haggling with the vendors. Lots of souvenirs available. There's a bank across the street from the market so you can change your Canadian $ at a little better rate than the hotels.

This small market near the hotel is a good place to get Cuban trinkets for souvenirs. Variety will vary each day, but you can count on artist paintings, some home made wood carvings, leather goods such as belts, some knitted dresses, and other souvenirs.
