Like most people we arrived on a cruise ship and we had a walk around this lovely village. There are a few shops / supermarkets but the real time should be spent wondering around as it is a lovely little place. You can walk to the lakes here but make sure you have a reasonable amount of time. We took... More

Most tourist arrive by ship, and cruise lines love to have you book excursions through them. Don't, especially with Olden. Instead, when you get off your ship cross the street and find "Olden Sightseeing." For a much lower price they will take you on a trolly trip of the highlights of this quaint town. It's a little over an hour,... More

Our cruise took us along the lakes which had stunning views, when you get off the boat there are people who sell tickets to go on the Noddy Train or the open top bus for a tour to the Glaicers. We decided to take a walk around, the town is very small with only two supermarkets and a few shops.... More

A real highlight of our holiday in Norway. The cruise along the lake was stunning, the blue colour of the water scenery, waterfalls, cloud cover, all just amazing beauty. And at the end of the lake with a short walk is the stunning glacier, just a fabulous day out.

Basically a postcard picture everywhere you turn. Magnificent sights of mountains and the fjord. It truly is unbelievable the sheer size and beauty. A magical land.

Area seemed to embrace tourism even the day trippers from cruse ships, like us . Nice touch the music played as the ship... More

Olden is a charming port and quant town which offers a gateway to the glaciers. The village is one which should not be missed with its excellent location.

We visited as a port of call of our cruise and were very glad it stopped here. The village is small, quiet, and pretty, in a beautiful location at the end of the fjord and we experienced it under both overcast skies and sunny intervals. The fjord water is a beautiful colour where it is fed from the glaciers around... More
