An amazing experience and must be visited before global warming takes the last viewable parts. The journey there was as much part of the experience. You don't need to use the troll cars we walked and enjoyed the scenery and fresh air at our pace.

What a place! To see a massive glacier melting with a river consisting of 2000 year old snow is just incredible. Despite being there in June, they had snow the night before. Just magical!

This is a stunning location to visit. I came to this place on a cruise ship throughout Norway. Briksdal Glacier is not very far from Olden a wonderful port town where I docked. There are loads of tours coming to this place. It is a...More

Went with a party, using the little vehicles. You still have a short term to get to the glacier by very picturesque on the way. Recommend looking up at the walls of the valley as you can see where the glacier has scraped the rock...More

The glacier is truly amazing nature at its best. The surroundings are beautiful as well, thick forests cliffs and lakes. We went with an organised trip by bus and there was a 10 min walk from the car but very good paths and lovely scenery...More

This trip is an absolute must for anyone in Olden. The views on the way to the glacier are mesmerising. We paid for a bus trip to the Glacier which took about 40 minutes from the centre of Olden and had a couple of hours...More

Beautiful even though it was a very wet day. Did the climb to the glacier, got soaked to the skin but it was well worth. A totally amazing sight. The troll car would definitely be the easy way up but I would say take your...More

A stunning piece of nature surrounded by amazing scenery. The glacier is reducing in size but still awesome to see. Take a troll car up as quite a steep walk, no good if you have mobility issues. Only negative feedback is that the whole place...More

My wife and I visited the Briksdal Glacier in July. It's out in the middle of nowhere. Parking is available but is not free. Followed by a short, steep walk up to the gift shop, dining area and the path to the glacier viewing. Troll...More

Briksdal Glacier is an excursion that everyone should do if in the area. We did it with our 6 years old son. Park the car and pay for it. At first you go up to a steep road, but is a small one. Then it...More

If I remember correctly our guide just said let me know that you are going to do this, the journey is stunning and yes you will want to take lots of photos. Just make sure you get back in time for the bus back to the ship.

Yes I do believe that the troll car stops half way for photos however if you walk it is not hard going but takes about 1 hour there and same back . This includes stopping lots to take photos

We didn't travel with a dog, and I don't think we went on a trolley car either, so sorry, I can't be of more help. We were part of a tour group and arrived by bus
