We came here on a tour from our cruise ship. The drive itself is beautiful from Olden - about 25 minutes on a coach all along the lakes. The walk to the glacier is equally as stunning with numerous waterfalls and interesting landforms/cliffs. Walk took...More

We took a trip to the Briksdal glacier on probably the hottest day of our holiday. The visitors centre and cafe was well appointed and they suggested a 40 minute walk to the base of the glacier. We found it was a 40 minute fairly...More

If you visit Olden a trip to the glacier should not be missed. We arrived with a P & O cruise on the constitution day of Norway which was a holiday for the Norwegians and one which they celebrate with a parade. As with most...More

During the walk to the glacier you will climb around 400m and most of this will be in the first section which can be quite steep so make sure you have appropriate footwear, it took me 40 minutes to walk this first section. In the...More

We elected to walk up to the glacier from the parking spot at the Cafeteria. Approx 40 min walk each way. Quite steep in parts but well constructed pathway with rails and steps where needed. Levelled out once the glacier was in sight but the...More

We took the open-top bus tour from Olden to Stryn to see (in the distance) the Briksdal Glacier, living proof of the effects of global warming. The bus doesn't actually get you to the glacier - you have to take a boat trip for that....More

Excellent experience! Walking was light to medium. Little bit windy. Worth the effort. Maybe a little bit to much touristified. A spot you really have to see if you are in the area.

I'm afraid not. The path takes you up to the lake at the foot of the Glacier. You get a fantastic view of the Glacier across the lake. The journey up to and back down from the Glacier is spectacular. You will love it. Good... More
