So blue

The glacier ice is so blue compared to the White snow on top of it. Quite amazing to realise how old the glacier ice is. You need to be able bodied to get to it

The road to the Glacier is beautiful. The Glaciier itself is quite poor. Up to the Glacier we took the Trollers and back by foot for 3 nice and easy road of app. 3 km.

Having visited Glaciers in Alaska, we thought this was a bit of a let down. You can not get really close and can't walk on the Glacier and there were no guides to tell the history and explain about the Glaciers. We took the Troll car to the Glacier as it was late in the day. I would suggest getting... More

We walked to the glaciers, although visitors can chose to travel by a buggy style transport. There was no regrets as the scenery, waterfalls and the amazing glaciers were simply awesome.

You can travel to the glacier on a buggy type car and just walk the last 10mins (still quite a climb though!) but for the real experience climb to the glacier yourself. The coach will take you to the car park. It takes best part of an hour and is quite a climb but my husband is asthmatic and he... More

I went on a week cruise to Norway with my family and one port stop was Olden. I totally fell in love with the place. I actually hiked upto the glacier on my birthday, and brilliant way to spend they day. It was an organised trip from the ship. The walk up could be steep in parts but there is... More

A 4.3k hike from the car park gets you to this stunning glacial lake and view of the glacier. Some very steep parts and rough paths in places so not suitable for everyone. However it was a sight worth seeing and I am glad we did it.There are troll cars for those not wanting to walk but where they stop... More

It is a nice drive from Olden to the glacier. The road is not too narrow. Parking at the glacier is 50 Kronor and the machine where you can pay only accepts coins. After trying to make change at the gift shop I found out that you can pay there as well with a credit card (a note about that... More

You can get some great photos up near to the glacier and multiple waterfalls on the way up. It is quite a walk up to the glacier, but they do have seven person all- terrain vehicles that they will bring you up, which are well worth it , if you don't want a 20 minute uphill walk. My wife says... More
