Ms Penny the store owner was very friendly and helped me with selecting the perfect souvenirs and gifts for my trip. It seamed like every item had a little story behind it which made each one special. Ms. Penny also has great knowledge of the island and directed me to several great restaurants and places to see that I probably would have missed. I wondered into Penelope's Island Emporio expecting the typical gift shop. Miss Penny graciously greeted me at the door and started showing me around her shop sharing her vast knowledge and fun stories about the stones, jewelry and people that made the treasures she beholds. Miss Penny is a true gem and asset to the West Bay Mall. I will definitely shop at her store when I return to West Bay next year. Much of her jewelry is one of a kind made on the island by the local residents.The prices range from about $10 to around $100. Be sure to ask her about the "school of fish" or the cameos and other things a local lady engraves on sea shells using a dentist drill. This shop is well worth stopping at.…

I travelled with a group of 20 and 5 of us visited this amazing store. The owner was very helpful and though the jewelry is more expensive it is well worth it. ($30 to $150 generally) We all bought something! I purchased earings and fell in love with a ring purchased by a friend. All the jewelry is one of a kind and the owner provides lots of information about each of the pieces she has. I highly recommend a visit to Penelope's.…

Owner Penny Leigh has created a great assortment of unique gift items just a short walk from the beachfront hotels. The proceeds from some items go to island charities and you're assured of a friendly chat with Penny even it you're "just looking" ....

From her exquisite collection of ocean blue Larimar gemstones, & Roatan Charms - to locally made coffee & honey .. even local miracle lotions & insect repellants that work - for all your beach & adventure activities! Skip the boring Big Box stores in every port offering the same generic items & support the Locals! Penny is from the States so extremely knowledgeable, outgoing & always excited to connect with her customers from every end of the globe!
