Command views of Rasnov

Well worth the visit to see the history of the peasant fort and the surrounding area, plus commanding views of the town.

It boast an amazing view of the surrounding mountains, some fortifications and a good chunk of Romanian history if you have a guide with you. The tractor ride on the way uphill must be the best part of the trip for kids, as is the archery. We came around the winter sunset time, just before they were closing, stunning views!

Visited yesterday and the ruined Citadel is a joy to behold. Entrance was cheap and even the extra activities we extremely cheap (£1 to try axe throwing.) There's a fantastic 360 degree viewing platform by the flag

I loved walking round this. It has not been tampered with so you get a real feel and impression of how it was. Great fun having a go at throwing the axes. Really reasonably priced and food staff

While this place looks spectacular from a distance, once you get inside it is ruins. On one side that is a positive to see a place that has not been renovated just for tourists but don't come expecting to see a castle or formed citadel. It looks like it has seen better days as there were signs for an audio... More

Very famous citadel lost of glittering of some years ago. The panorama view is amazing but overall serices and inside organized activity are fading Place has a great potential but those agricultural tractors pulling passengers wagons then follow by those inside serices/trade providers showing pale interest towards turists. Something changed, scenery and location of the citadel will not compesate overal... More

To get to Rasnov, one would need to have a lot of energy to walk.. Fortunately we took an uber, and the driver was nice enough to park right in front of the citadel gates... There, you can imagine how the soldiers held fort against their enemies for hundreds of years... The citadel has barely been refurnished, giving it a... More

We visited this fortress on a recommendation, from the Brasov tourist centre, lady. One we are so glad we visited the tourist centre two, she gave excellent advice. The fortress is huge so allow plenty of time to visit it. There are three ways to get to the top, entrance, one walk, up the steps (not our thing). Two, the... More

WOW!!! Very impressed with this place. We didn't know about this place at all, the Lady in Brasov tourist information said to go, that it was a must see after Bran Castle, she wasn't wrong! This is one of the most Memorable places in Romania that I saw. Spectacular views, bargain up the cable car and so cheap to get... More
