Discover Blair Castle and go on a journey into the fascinating past of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. Unique amongst Scottish castles, the story here leads you from Mary Queen of Scot's visit to the Civil War, and from the Jacobite cause to Queen Victoria's famous stay which led to the creation of Europe's only surviving private army, the Atholl Highlanders. Over 700 years of Scottish history are on display across 30 rooms. Highlights of the castle tour include the Baronial Entrance Hall, featuring weapons used at the Battle of Culloden; the classic Georgian styling of the Picture Staircase; the grandeur of the State Dining Room and Drawing Room; and the magnificent Ballroom, bedecked in hundreds of antlers. The Castle sits at the hub of a breathtaking historic landscape and the gardens and grounds feature a 9 acre walled garden, a peaceful wooded grove, a ruined kirk, a red deer park and a whimsical Gothic folly.

I have really tried with this place but the outside staff are so incredibly rude and a very bad example of Scottish hospitality! The guides and staff in the Castle are funny and knowledgable. The Cafeteria staff aren't great either. NEVER AGAIN and i will not be taking anymore of my guests here and i work in the tourist industry!!

I visited Blair Castle during the Horse Trials in August. It was great having lunch on veranda while the horses were going past was really good. We were there for at least 3 hours, the grounds take up a lot of time but it's definitely worth making your way around to them, I've never seen trees so tall in my... More

you can do a self-guided tour or choose to go along with a guide. Either way, the castle is stunning and the grounds are spectacular. You need to allow at least 2 hours. All floors were w wealth of history and information.

Visited Blair Castle for a private guided tour organised by Trafalgar. They have a stunning armory just inside the entrance of the castle with heaps of swords, rifles, spears and axes laid out all around the walls. The hanging tapestries are huge and very beautiful. One room is dedicated to China dinnerware, I have never seen so many plates in... More

Only writing this to make sure people know this attraction is closed Nov to March...or sometime. It was open for a craft sale so we visited and was nice to visit in part.

We visited this castle on our anniversary weekend and we took the tour inside. The lady doing the tour did a fantastic job and she knew absolutely everything about the history of this castle ( and there is a lot to know ). The tour wasn't that long but what was shown was was amazing. A must seen for sure... More
