We came to this beach thinking we would stay for 3 nights but had to leave the next morning, this beach is just a tourist trap, everything is made for tourists so the prices are higher than anywhere else we have been in Sri Lanka....More

This beach is magic, clear waters, calm near the shore with a little surf break further out. Just gorgeous. We stayed about 15km away on Goyambokka beach, where accomodation was more suited to our family as Hiriketiya is oriented towards backpackers. But Hiriketiya beach is...More

Quieter than some of the other areas, lovely beach, sheltered bay. Still enough waves to have some fun. Many children playing in the surf. Small beach restaurants along the beach. Glad we came. We were there during off season, but the beach was calmer enough...More

We found this on our way to Tangalle, passing Dikwella. The access road to the beach is not the best but the trouble is all worth because it's one of the beautiful beaches with turquoise blue sea in SL and a great surf spot. Also...More

Had a great time with another family staying in a villa near the beach. We were sightly worried about going in August but had very nice weather the entire week, with the occasional rain and windy conditions.

We were blown away by Hiriketiya Beach - it’s so gorgeous! It is what I would describe as paradise! Lovely sand and clean, crystal waters. There is very good surf too for surfers! There are tasteful and well-run bars and restaurants/guest houses on the beach...More

I really liked this beach a lot! Nice cove that was great for surfing. There was a right and left point break in either side of the cove. Also, good waves for beginners in from the points. Plenty of board rentals. Good for swimming too....More

Hi, If I were you I’d get the bus from Matara to Dikwella bus station and from there jump into a tuk tuk down to Hiriketiya.
