- AnneVanDenHeuvelMierlo, The Netherlands22 contributionsAmazing hike with Raj adventureWe did the half day tour with Raj adventure and had an amazing morning! The 4 cascades we saw were breathtaking and the hike was not too difficult for us. We were really happy with our guide Atish who is very knowledgeable, helps you with some more challenging parts of the hike and is simply a very warm and friendly guy who learned us a lot about Mauritius. Raj adventure is a family-owned business and you feel that! In the communication, in our wonderful guide and the delicious home-made snacks Shoba offers you after the hike. Don’t hesitate to book a guided tour here, you won’t regret it!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 October 2023
- jasmineR4397ZFSydney, Australia3 contributionsGreat! The guided tour was awesome, the guide is professional and knows the trail very well, and knows exactly how to guide us to walk safely. The trail is challenging and you must have a good guide. The guide was very patient and attentive to our requests and made sure that we all fully enjoyed everything the 7 waterfalls has to offer and that everyone would be completely satisfied.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 17 October 2023

- Sophie PPerth, Australia20 contributionsFantastic half day hike with Raj AdventuresIt was a challenging walk in a beautiful part of the country. There were many beautiful view points along the way. The pace was good - it allowed us to take rests and photos along the way. Swimming in the pools along the way was glorious way to cool off. It was fun and scary jumping off the falls into the pool. It was great to have Raj who was an experienced and organised guide. The delicious home cooked local snacks was the best way to end the day!Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 November 2023
- Filip U1 contributionRajadventures and tamarind fallsWe highly recommend Rajadventures and guide Vikash. We managed to see all waterfalls and swim. Thanks to Vikash's experience we were able to hike with no problems. If you want to visit tamarind falls and have a good time, do not hesitate to contact this company!Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 November 2023
- Bethan D1 contributionAmazing experience with RajadventuresWe did the full day hike with Vikash through RajAdventures. It was very easy to book through WhatsApp to arrange the trip (+ 23059155178). We hiked to all of the waterfalls and swam in a few of them. Don't be tempted to go with an unofficial guide, the forest is dense and it would be very easy to get lost or hurt but Vikash made us feel incredibly safe. Great lunch and snacks were provided during the hike, all topped off with a cold beer at the end at their family home!Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 November 2023

- Dylan W8 contributionsHalf day tour with RajadventuresAmazing place to visit, we walked the 4 waterfalls on a relatively easy trek (with some steep climbs) thanks to Mervin from Rajadventures (+23059155178). Plenty to time to soak in the views and have a swim in the waterfalls! The family invited us back for some refreshments too. Very friendly family-run business, would highly recommend!Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 November 2023
- Umamah K2 contributionsHalf day tour of 4 waterfallsWe had an amazing hiking experience with Raj Adventures (WhatsApp: +23059155178) They are a family run tour company who take pride in hospitality and providing a safe and memorable experience. We did the half day tour. Our guide was Atish, he took us through a challenging but beautiful trail to see 4 stunning waterfalls. The views were incredible. He made sure we were ok all the way through, shared lots of interesting facts and happily took pictures of us. We trekked behind a waterfall which was stunning and swam under one. After our swim Atish gave us some delicious and refreshing pineapples and lychees grown by themselves. Once we completed our hike we were taken back to their home and given the chance to freshen up and change. Their home was lovely and very clean. Shoba provided us with towels and bags to put our dirty clothes. We then enjoyed some delicious home made snacks and cold drinks. Honestly do not go on the hike by yourself or with random guides. Safe pathways can only really be known by experienced guides, it is not worth taking the risk. Especially if it’s really hot or if the floors are slippery it can be really dangerous! Thank you again to Raj adventure’s for such a lovely tour and great communicationVisited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 December 2023
- p12349 contributionsMemorable waterfall adventure with RajThis was one of the most memorable experiences we had while visiting Mauritius. We booked with Raj Adventures and took our 5 kids (ages 15 - 2) and hiked the waterfalls and swam in the pools. It was an amazing experience. I would highly recommend getting a guide. While there is a trail, it’s difficult to find and you’re going to miss great picture opportunities, places to jump off the falls, and where to swim and where not to swim. Raj was so helpful and supportive the entire time. He guided my 8 year old daughter through the sometimes steep and precarious trail, helping her know where to place her foot or grab a tree. He showed me a 20+ foot jumping spot at the last waterfall that was pretty epic. I carried my 2 year old in an Osprey toddler carrying backpack on my back. You will need to be in decent physical shape to do this hike. It’s not easy, but it’s not hard either. There are steep parts but you just need to take it slow. Our kids loved it!Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 2 January 2024

Wonderful half day trek to four waterfalls with Raj. Shoba his wife arranged everything perfectly, WhatsApp her on +230 5915 5178. Raj was really experienced and fantastic with our six year old . We also had a 2 year old and 9 month old in slings and even though the trail was quite difficult in parts, Raj really helped guide us and ensured we were all safe. We stopped for breaks at each waterfall and had a swim in one. Afterwards we were welcomed back to Raj’s place for delicious home-made snacks and drinks with his wife Shoba. They were both very hospitable and it was great to see there home and chat with them after the hike. Highly recommend Raj Adventures. This was a fun day out for the whole family but I’d probably only recommend you carry kids in slings if you are fit and confident trekkers, as there is a lot of up and down climbing with no real steps.

For those looking for something to get those lockdown blues out of your system, I would definitely recommend a hike at les 7 Cascades. I was fortunate to get a guide called Prakash from Green Discovery (I contacted him via his fb site).. Prakash was an excellent guide who knew the area quite well, he managed the hike quite well, allowing me to explore on my own (of course as safely as possible) and giving me opportune moments to capture the beauty of the waterfalls and natural environment around. I will definitely recommend taking a hike here and may come again to take a full day tour instead with Prakash as this time due to time constraints I only managed to see 7, apparently there are around 14 to see...

Well worth the trip. I had envisioned a national park gate entrance with an opportunity to arrange a guide at the entrance.
What a good thing I researched on TA and discovered reviews about Prakash!
There was no gate entrance with a host of guides!
This review is all about Prakash and the 7 cascades! Without Prakash to guide us we would not even have found the way in and we would have constantly been questioning ourselves that we going the wrong way.
Although there are several well worn paths and at certain times of the day there are quite a few people and guides doing the hike , we went in the late afternoon and it was very quiet. there were very few people around. As we were hiking late in the day we were very pleased to have Prakash with us as it is not at all clear which way is out and we didn’t fancy exiting after 5.30pm when it starts to get dark. We came across two couples who were lost.
I ‘Whats App’d’ Prakash on +230 5760 8367 and made all the arrangements via a couple of messages.
We met at an agreed rendezvous point. He arranged safe parking for our hire car and guided us to the best viewing spots, the safest places to swim, safe pools to jump into from height etc etc.
We weaved through the undergrowth down steep paths and in behind rocks to get the best views.
There was no sense of rush, Prakash was our guide for 5 hours and if we had wanted to linger at each pool and soak up the sun before walking onto the next waterfall we could have done so, however we didn’t start until 13.45
and we easily managed to see all 7 falls and swim and jump and stop for food etc without feeling rushed in 3.5 hours. ( As it happened we were out long before dark but you wouldn’t want to be clambering up the steep loose surface in the dark)
We would all highly recommend Prakash as a guide.
If you are looking for a truly authentic experience of the area, Prakash runs Green Adventures and has a BnB with 2 rooms. We drove back to Prakash’s house after the hike for a cool drink and had the pleasure of meeting his lovely family…. But equally we could have left straight after our hike.

An absolutely incredible hike led by our expert Yohan (+230 5743 3199). We were a family with young kids, 10 and 8, and Yohan expertly took us on the hike of these incredible falls.
Also had our 4 month old strapped into me, and so Yohan led the way and supported my girls, where I physically couldn't.
The highlight of our time in Mauritius, due to us being a young family, Yohan tweaked our hike to accommodate and he gave us plenty of time to take pics, have breaks, and swim in the falls.
Would absolutely recommend, and definitely suggest reaching out to Yohan for an comprehensive guide (@hotspotmauritius on Instagram).

We would warmly recommend Rajadventures. We did the half day hike (4 waterfalls) with our six months old baby in a baby carrier. Rambo was our guide and he was absolutely great. Our safety and the safety of our little one was always a priority. He adapted the rythme to everyone of the group so that the hike was neither too difficult nor too slow. Along the hike, Rambo gave us a lot of nice information. For example, how to eat the raw sugar cane.
After the hike, Raj and his wife Shoba welcomed us at their home and offered us drinks and food cooked by Shoba. Raj and Shoba were really friendly and caring with us and our little boy so that everyone felt good with them.
You can go with Rajadventures without any doubt on the quality of the hike or guide.

Very nice, authentic and tropical experience with Dooshian (local guide, (+230) 58 89 25 51).
You can either book a tour guide in advance or drive to the waterfalls by yourself and getting in touch with one of the guides waiting for tourists. Physically, the tour is not very challenging, however, since it is quite steep in certain passages it might be too demanding for elderly people or small children.
I do recommend a local guide - without Dooshian we would have missed a lot of interesting details (knowledge of local widlife and flora). Definitely an experience you should not miss being in Mauritius!

Awesome hike! Very slippery and challenging. Make sure you go with a local guide with a small group. I highly recommend my friend Sanjeev hit him on WhatsApp +230 5815 4375
He knows what he's doing, he's reasonable when it comes to money and very patient.

Very nice hike to 4 waterfalls. You need good shoes and some stamina, because the path is not very easy. Atish was our guide and he showed us the best places. He knew well about the plants and animals you can see on the trail. We were able to go swimming in one of the lakes below the third waterfall. After the hike Shoba invited us to some Indian delicacies. The booking was totally straightforward (just contact Shoba via WhatsApp at 23059155178) I can only recommend this hike.

Booked a half day tour through Prakash at Green Discovery (after reading the great reviews on here!). We had Yogeshrao as our guide who knew everything about the area, routes and plants on our trip, and also took some amazing photos.
Would highly recommend a guide as you could easily get lost (we met some people who had), and couldn’t recommend ours more!
The half day tour ends at the top of the fifth waterfall which is a pretty big one (followed by lunch). If you wanted to go to the bottom of this one you’d need to do the full day, but having seen the others and had a swim we don’t feel we missed out too much by only doing the half day.

Hello, is the trail to the waterfalls marked? We would like to hike it alone as we are quite experienced hikers, i would just like to know if it is marked or is it easy to get lost. Thank you

Not really. Along the road where all the cars park take a narrow path to the right before the small bridge. It's best to follow others if there are plenty of visitors.

If you like to hike there is a nice flat tour in the south, along the coast. The Friendly Dodo is offering this, it is like partially being driven in a van, and 3 hikes (coming all together to 10km). Check with Roman on WhatsApp +23057337559.

Would it be ok for my wife & I to walk this without a guide? Is it safe, and easy to find our way? We often go hill-walking in Europe and have done in other places too. We'll be in Mauritius in May. Thanks.

I would suggest not. Go with a guide, they have good knowledge of the routes and the area as well as ensuring all take care on the treacherous areas. There is no way we would have found the way without a guide
