As is the case of most of the famous temples I have visited in the past like Jagannath Puri, Kali Maata Kolkata....Banke Bihari temple is no different in terms of management and hygiene.
Local touts and priests have made this holy place into a business hub. I think deliberately the management is kept poor so that these people can flourish. If there is no stampede like situation inside the main temple, there is no need for a backdoor entry which is promised by these touts for a petty sum of money. Really shame on these people. And the shocking part is that even the main priests inside indulge in all these activities by offering proper 'darshan' to the Lord.
On top of that, the crowd makes mockery of the Covid precautions.

I wish I could rate it zero star, but that option is not available, hence one star.
I will recommend everyone to avoid going there, as there are so many issues:
1. Taking your car is not allowed, as no proper parking is available. it is banned from many kilometers away, you are forced to take battery ricksaw only.
2. Lanes are very narrow, crowded and dirty. It does'nt look like managed at all.
3. This temple is overly crowded, no line or crowd management, They keep closing curtains at every few minutes which increase more crowd. If you pay money you will get special darshan from backdoor, which further increases crowd and chaos.
4. No place to keep your shoes, they are scattered like garbage, and to collect them you need to walk many kilometers again.
5. I went with my husband, and due to crown we got separated after a lot of efforts i could meet him, as there is no proper lines, gates, exits etc.
6. You can not get a proper darshan even on a weekday. I went n Monday 29 Aug. but found it overly crowded.
7. Very very poor and greed management. This places is a totally mess.
8. If you wish to spoil your holiday come and experience pathetic law and order here.
9. Worst temple management I have ever come across.
10. Will not go ever nor will recommend this place to anyone. FULL OF CHEATERS.
11. Very disappointing experience at Banke Bihari Temple and Nidhi Van. Please Avoid going there.

The temple has solid followers. Inspite of that the temple is not at all managed properly. No proper provision for keeping shoes. Inside the temple it is money which plays a role because if you can spend money you will be allowed to go right in the front, i. e. Till the place allowed. Might is right also plays a role in this temple. No management at all Rather to bluntly say a excellent temple with worst management. With the amount of money flowing it could have been an excellent temple.

This is one of the important temple at Vrindavan dedicated to lord Krishna. This is in a narrow passage when there is crowd you will find it difficult to walk. We were there just few minutes before the opening in the afternoon, it was very crowded and there is no line or methodical arrangement made to devotees and tourists. People were gathered and pushing the crowd unbearably. In the meantime agents come there and negotiate for early/ VIP darshan for a hefty fare. don't get caught to this racket, they can take you to the gate or side entrance only. Inside of the temple you could feel heavenly vibration, unfortunately the devotees were allowed in disorderly manner and you are crushed among the people.
It is my humble suggestion to the temple management authorities to have the crowd arranged properly before a disaster happens.

Visited banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan . It was a nice spiritual visit like previous visits. The banke Bihari temple is marvellous . Beautifully built with nice architectural theme. The moment we enter inside the temple , the spiritual feeling is so divine that it is difficult to express in words. A must visit temple.

Banke Bihari, the consciousness, the eternal love of all Krishna devotees. There is a feeling, a connection to this place which is very peaceful and calming.
The roads are bit confusing and you better take help of battery vehicles available. The food around the place is yummy.
Lords bal roop, child avatar. One darshan does not feel enough but have to make way for other devotees. This is Krishna's land, his temple and everything even the people are his and only his.

The interior of the temple was nice once we managed to get inside, especially wince it had the deity/figure of Banke Bihari, the combined form of both Krishna & Radha, inside but getting there was rather chaotic as the temple was quite overcrowded with hardly any queue management in place which meant that I and my family had to get around the temple by either pushing through the huge crowd or getting pushed with the enormous amount of people.
My other issues with the place was that 1) there was no shoe storage facility within the temple complex which meant leaving our shoes in a shop some distance away and walking barefoot across the roads which weren't particularly clean or well maintained (I was willing to bare that for the temple but a shoe storage facility within the temple would be nicer in future) and 2) some of the "panda"/priest people in the area are a bit dodgy as some of them are out to scam people (which was what the one with my family seemed to have an intention of doing). I also advise anyone visiting to take good care of your personal belongings as there were lots of monkeys in the area and we were warned that the monkeys could steal some personal belongings, including mobile phones and glasses/sunglasses (keep them in your pockets/secure bags if monkeys are in sight - that being said I think phones generally aren't allowed inside the temple).
Overall, the central bit of the temple was the only bit I liked and I'm not sure I'd revisit this place unless I'm with a different person or different group of people and unless the queue management and other issues (especially show storage) improve in the future. If I were to visit Vridavan/Mathura again later on in life, I'd make sure that I also visit the Shree Krishna Janmashtan Temple Complex, or go there instead (I do wish I went there instead of Banke Bihari but there wasn't enough time for that sadly, maybe next time).

Well my title should sum it up all. I need to point out some basic things about this amazing temple. Be aware of the temple timings, cz as you will visit Vrindavan from delhi or Agra or likeways place, you need to check in within 12 noon or you need to wait for 3.30 pm when the temple re-opens. This story is similar for all Vrindavan temples. You shall be prepared for walking in the narrowest lanes for atleast 15 minutes to reach the actual temple. It is always over-crowded so take your own ample time to see the deity properly. The atmosphere inside it is surreal. There is a car parking area so don't think about that much. Those lanes are lined by Vrindavan's famous Pera stalls along with mouth watering Kachauri and sweets as well.

I and my family went to Vrindavan Temple on 13th Dec'2023 and it was a very terrible experience. The temple closes at 8pm however to my surprise it was opened for us at 9.30pm, we were in a package tour. There was this pandit named shri brijbihari thakur.shree dawoodjee maharaj who runs a business of religiously blackmailing the tourist. The moment he finished his preaching, there was a group of people approaching devotees to donate 16000, 8000, 4000 and so on. All the people are thugs who are making a fool of devotees in the name of religion. Request to look into this as we are creating a bad image of such a sacred place

The Holi festival of this year 2021 was very spiritual for me, because i had spended my three days at mathura- vrandavan (Uttar Pradesh) , The Birth Place of Lord Krishna & Radha and I was very surprised at the Darshan time for Banke Bihari(lord) because i was realising the feeling of (bhakti) energy which was spread in whole town.

Hi all, Can anyone tell me if traffic is banned to enter Vrindavan on weekday also? I am planing to visit this Friday. I hope it will not be a crowded day.
Written 26 March 2019
I have no idea whether they ban traffic for entire Vrindavan. But yes for Banke Bihari temple you cannot take your vehicle as the street going up to temple is very narrow. We travelled in E- rickshaw. Secondly Holi festival is over recently so there should not be rush on Friday. All the best

How far is the car parking from the temple?
Where will I get vip pass ? If needed
If I m coming from Delhi. Then which route will be best ? Taj express or NH2 .
I plan to visit only banks Bihari temple and prem mandir only . I m a first time traveller.
Regards all

Parking is not a big problem here. If you are going by cab then driver knows everything where to park. Some parking areas are very near to Banke Bihari Temple. Some local people also provide parking facility in there vacant plots and charge around Rs. 100 to 200. If you want VIP access then contact with pujari at temple premises. I think Taj Express way is best route from delhi. Parking facility is available in front of Prem Mandir. They charges Rs.100. for car. Have a nice trip.

We had parked our car in the car park and took a motorised rickshaw to Prem Mandir and Bihari temple. Prem Mandir is along the main road. So no problem. After travelling in the same rickshaw for about 5 minutes we came to the road of Bihari Temple. From there, we walked along the narrow streets for about 5 minutes before coming to the Mandir.
