An enjoyable overview of the history of Alex, well worth a visit. The displays are well presented covering geology, gold history and the more recent horticulture industry. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.

Alex is a small but beautiful town. The team at the i-site makes it even cuter. They have all the info you need, whether you're exploring Alex, or you're passing through towards Dunedin/Queenstown/Gore/Invercargill. Have a small museum as well, with some cool preservations. Best of...More

It was a lot bigger than I expected. Thought there would be a few leaflets, but no. My two minute trip in should have been at least 20. I will be back in a few weeks to properly look around.

Only popped in for local info but found a very good museum on site that is well worth a look around. In particular it offers an insight into the history on mining in the area.
