Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Akyarlar seems to be left to insiders, or to the Turkish populationl. It is picturesque, with interesting motives for photos. There is the usual touristic infrastructure, but the site is in expansion, hopefully not to the worse. The marina is small in comparison to others in the Bodrum Peninsula. If you look for quiet in your holidays, you should probably visit Akyarlar in the near future.

Lovely small marina with plenty of restaurants and bars. Nice beach with plenty of sunbeds. Worth a visit if staying in near by hotels,

This is by no means an overpopulated place to visit. It's a traditional fishing village, that over the years has had to accommodate tourist from the nearby hotel and then the local travelers. It's clean and tidy and the Marina is small but still has active fishermen that go out early to earn a living. Set back from the Marina are holiday lets and small motels, These lead down to the small beach front whereby you are greeted with a mass of sunbeds and small piers set in the sea with more sunbeds. All in all it's a lovely walk through a very traditional Turkish village, the old ruins of what seems to be the main Town Hall back in the day, is held together by large steel bands! The stonework of the buildings is testament to the quality of the workmanship from an era long gone. Stop by and have a beer or coffee with the locals!

Very small but pretty views of Kos. Nothing much going on. No water sports. Quite windy some litter.

This is a small marina with a few boats and with nice cafes under the dense shadow of the trees. The village with shops ( an especially good ice cream parlor called Bitez Dondurma), restaurants and bars is just behind. The restaurants have good set menus. The beaches nearby are also nice. The two hotels, Sentido Bellazure and Kefaluka are within a short walk.

There are also daily boat trips to different bays and islands from the marina . This would take the whole day and include lunch.

We own a house nearby this lovely place and spand six months, May-October, there every year. My husband had asmall motor boat that was onchored at that Marina. NOW and THEN we enjoyed going fishing and taking along our friends for SWİMMİNG at nearby lagoons. After my husband passed away I sold the boat but continue visiting the little coffe house there. My daughter and her family who live in London, England, visit me six weeks in Summers each year. Although their motor yatch is at D-Marin marina in Turgutreis, we all enjoy visiting Akyarlar Marina very often and dine at the lovely restaurants there. The village is getting crowded every year with the addition of new beache settlements, private houses and restaurants. Prices ARE reasonable.

'Visited' a couple of times from our hotel (the Kefaluka) - a short walk along the beach which was relatively clean. Passed a few old buildings one of which looked like a bar (closed as early in season?).

The 'marina' itself is small - a few private boats, tour & fishing boats. Not the prettiest marina we've seen in Turkey.

We didn't avail ourselves of a meal or drink in the few bars/restaurants (most of which seemed to be attached to the hotels). They did look clean & some offered use of sun loungers.

It may have been because it was early season but although there were menu boards on display for some places they were all in Turkish & there were no prices displayed for anything. Perhaps the place is more popular with the Turkish people as we noticed that most of the clientele were Turkish.

It has to be said that our hotel & the others we looked at in the area when planning our trip were all inclusive so perhaps the owners have 'given up' on attracting British & other nationalities to their bar/restaurants.

All in all a small marina set in a smallish village which does have a chemist & post office & a weekly vegetable market.

Worth a stroll if you are getting stir crazy in your all inclusive hotel

This little marina is lovely offering a range of restaurants, boat trips and pensions. If you arrive at the marina before 11am you can hop onto a boat trip for the day. Its beautiful at night when its all lit up. There is also a small craft market at night.
