We were excited to go given that it was free entry due to it been winter. On arrival there was a big carpark and pleasnt looking entrance. The lady on arrival was unable to answer questions. It is £1.5 for 3 small bags of feed. Most animals looked to be in poor condition with the exception of a few. The... More

I have to say that I don't particularly enjoy visiting zoos due to the caging situation and obvious stress/boredom of many animals; A friend recommended this place on the grounds that many animals are free to roam and begrudgingly we decided to visit (2 adults/2 children aged 10/11. I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised. It was a... More

We visited the park with our 3 young children. The park overall has seen some major changes over recent years and some of the areas are looking good especially the childrens play area which is massive and plenty to tire even the most energetic of kids. Unfortunately some of the enclosures dont look the best I.E Wolf enclosure looks like... More

Went in December spent three hours there but could easily have stayed longer. Excellent facilities, clean, well maintained. children's play / picnic area. Good menu with meal deals for kids. Staff very helpful Lots of information about the animals. The animals were well looked after and many more species than I expected. Went with a friend but would recommend for... More

I have visited the zoo on a number of occasions over the past 20 years and have enjoyed the experience very much, However, over the past few years, the negative publicity the venue has received in the press (usually due to the actions of the owner) has put me off visiting and I vowed I would never set foot in... We have had a fantastic day out! We've been many times, this is our first visit since the expansion. I wasn't sure what to expect after reading some negative reviews, but this is still my favourite zoo. We have been to Edinburgh and Chester and were so disappointed, queuing to try to see animals that were in over grown cages.... More

Bit unfair I know but the weather turned nasty and I couldn't get to any of the indoor viewing areas on my mobility scooter as people used them to shelter from the rain, as they did in the various eating places and gift shop. The park should really police things like this as it is most unfair as well as... More

We went 19/02/17 as had seen the free entry advertised and having been before thought it would be a good day out and booked a local travelodge in Barrow in Furness (10minutes drive and a lovely base to stay....not Barrow itself which is a bit dire but the hotel is perfect). As we had stayed the night before we were... More

Was very impressed with the zoo! It had an open feel with a lot of the animals roaming freely. Good for all ages and groups! Had a great day.
