Visited the zoo at the end of December, drove over 2 hours and it was well worth it! There was no entry fee which we only found out about on arrival so even after a donation it was such a cheap day out! I've read other comments regarding the state of the zoo and that some areas of the zoo... More

Had a very enjoyable day. Free entry was an added bonus. Enjoyed the walk through section where the animals wandered close by inc the lemurs. It was nice & open with visibility of the larger animals good, the tigers/lions/jaguars were awe inspiring. Not all animals out but get that at any zoo. The vulture aviary was a new experience for... Called in on the way home from cockermouth. Not too easy to get to, road over the tops was really hazardous so keep to the A roads. Signage from the main road needs putting back up showing where the venue is. Sat nav address takes you to the staff/deliveries entrance. Once inside staff were helpful, free entry which was a... Visited in August 2016 for our first time and had a really good experience. Never been to a Safari Zoo before, so getting up close to the animals was amazing. There's a slow start with Zebras & Rhinos being the least accessible of all, but once you get a monster the animals it picks up. Tiger feeding was the highlight,... More

Fab day today. Completely free over winter. It's been 2 years since I've been and they have made loads of fab changes. All for the better. Animals are well looked after. Lots of space for them and to move around. No donation is asked for either. You can pay for extras like feeding the animals. I don't understand people complaining... More

We visited here in January when it was free! It's a good day out, plenty of animals, and things for the children To do. Parks, games and for £6 they can feed the animals.

We went here the other day as it was free, we needed something to do, and we'd read about the baby rhino so we thought it made sense to go. It was quite a let down. A lot of the park looked like a building site with big sections shut off, and the majority of the animals were inside. We... More

It was free -so there in itself is a bonus ! The zoo has had an upgrade and you can see this straight away - its looks good. The animals were good and the kids found them interesting, however there were limited amount of info about the animals at the zoo and in some cases the kids came away non... More

We went to the zoo in December, it had changed since the last time we visited although it was a while back. Well spaced out zoo, with a good selection of animals. We weren't able to see everything due to time of year. The zoo keepers seemed friendly and when doing the feeding sessions provided good information. Loved feeding the... More
