The Romany museum is frankly a hidden treasure. Having lived in the area for over 30 years I had no idea what a fantastic museum was on my doorstep. Firstly, there is an incredible amount to see. A number of Romany wagons, salvaged and restored to a very high standard and arranged so that they can be seen 'up close'.... More

This place is literally on our doorstep - never thought about visiting until we saw an article in our local newspaper. They had a free open day. However had we known we would have been happy to pay. It is well worth a visit - history made extremely interesting for all ages. Mr and Mrs. Boswell are really lovely people... More

Gordon Boswell treated us like the most special visitors he has ever had, as I suspect he treats every visitor. It was a fascinating and charming museum and a real credit to Gordon for having put it together, recommended!

Arriving here we were made to feel welcome by Margaret. I was in Awe. It is an Amazing collection of old Romany Vardo's and wagons and other objects that give you an insight to the traditional Romany way of life The pictures I took don't do it justice, as the workmanship on the wagons is amazing to see with your... I did not really have any interest in going to the museum, until my friends insisted I should join them, but I was so glad I did. The owner of the museum, bubbling with energy and enthusiasm, gave us a tour and explained about the various exhibits. It really is a most intriguing Place !

this is a unique collection and well worth visiting ,george was very friendly and full of information and willing to chat, my main criticism is that everything needs a good clean and dust,I hate to see museum items not cared for surely any museum can get free volunteers just by asking to help out

All undercover this is a delightful, interesting, and historically informative place to visit and Gordon is a very welcoming owner who is a mine of information about the romany history and their way of life. Do check opening times as most weeks they are only open on Fri, Sat and Sun. A good couple of hours for all the family
