The Tap Room has definitely gone down hill. The young waitress was lovely but clearly hadn’t been trained fully. The female supervisor was rude and obnoxious. The website clearly stated summer holiday giant garden games and films between 12-5pm. We called in advance to confirm and book for 4pm yet arrived to no film, no garden games and a snotty answer when I asked why. Service and atmosphere has definitely declined. Several people wandering behind the bar not in uniform so goodness knows who’s doing what. Food was all nice enough but despite being regulars, I don’t think we will return. They say talk to the staff on the day to put it right - we did just that and staff were totally disinterested!

Lovely beer (I had a Detour and my friend a Renegade) but service incredibly slow. Ignored at the table (by the bar) then took ages for the barman to serve the drinks as he was busy chatting. Food looked good, will be back, but could be so much better with some management of staff.

A brilliant brewery with a lovely taproom on site. Grab yourself a few to take away after! I can highly recommend the Detour Pale Ale or any of the IPAs

Terrible evening. Poor service. Bad food. Surely staff and grotty beer. The view was OK. But seriously this place has gone to the dogs.

Not knowing what to expect as this was arranged by someone else we turned up after a lovely drive. A nice warm greeting and shown to a reserved area while we waited for everyone to arrive. Drinks orders were taken and promptly arrived. A good range of beer plus a lot of other drinks both alcohol and soft.
Food was great around the table we had 7 different mains and everyone enjoyed their choice and the quality of taste and appearance was consistent.
Service was good throughout even though it got quite busy.
Will definitely go back again.

Lovely outdoor area to sit in the evening and enjoy the countryside. Easy parking too.
Service was great and our pizzas arrived quickly. The young man serving was spot on remembering everything we asked for. We had Really tasty pizza, I had the goats cheese one and it was loaded with flavour. Freshly made with fresh ingredients. The base was crispy and fluffy - Plentiful topping and done in a proper pizza oven. Devine!
We tried the solo stout - nonalcoholic it was fab. Tasty with a good head!
On the way out we bought some of the cases of beer for sale
Will definitely be back!

Live music lovely atmosphere yummy food good beer and tea in mugs - plus service above and beyond from hard working attentive and sociable waiter Evan - worked his socks off to keep us well watered and well fed. Collecting glasses tidying and serving everyone with a smile - inspirational young man.

First visit following mixed reports regarding peoples experiences here.

Arrived and greeted the reception lectern very quickly and then shown our table straight away. It was noticed though that the lectern was not always manned and some visitors seemed to be standing at the entrance for ages trying to get the attention of staff.

Once seated, we were left to peruse the menu but no waiting staff came to the table. Assuming we had to order at the bar we did that and having ordered drinks we asked whether we also had to order food at the bar. The response was ‘ well you can do’ so we did. Nothing written down so the barman had a good memory.

After a lengthy wait the drinks appeared at the table. The waitress, spilled beer over the table and said oops but did not offer to wipe up the spillage which we did with our own paper serviette.

We were then asked if we wished to order our food and informed our waitress that we had already done so at the bar. Glad we had done so as the wait would have otherwise been unacceptable.

No advice given regarding the food and after another lengthy wait, just as we were about to visit the bar again to ensure our order had been processed, the food did appear.

Food was OK. Generally fairly ordinary but my own pizza was good.

The unique interior ambiance was very pleasant.

Get the service right with clear instructions to diners. regular updates and a more attentive service and my review could jump up to five stars.

Will certainly give it another try in the near future in the hope that the management take diners reviews seriously and will address the problems with waiting staff before our next visit.

Definitely not up to scratch, service is shocking!
We are local and it’s very convenient for us just to pop down there to eat, but 9 times out of 10 we get turned away because “they’re full”, when they’re clearly not full. (How on earth could you just turn away paying customers?! Surely you’d at least try to accommodate?!)
Staff are all very young and inexperienced, and not attentive (for example not taking empty plates/glasses) and food and drinks take a very long time to come.
It was so much better when you could go up to the bar and order.
Only saving Grace is that the food is mostly good!
Such a shame as it’s local for us, but unfortunately won’t be giving this a thought at all now.
