Just enjoyed a 'Taster' on Trade Wind and upgrading from a dinghy sailor to yachting I cannot recommend the experience enough. We had an amazing sail, the manoeuvrability and on board facilities surprised our previous dinghy sailing experience. The Staff were so welcoming and encouraging. So much effort has been made to ensure the yachts fulfill the current criteria. Thank you. We look forward to a lengthier sail next time.

Took the family for a week in August on a sailing holiday, and we had a great time, and the team at Eastwood were great. we took our dog, who turned out not to be too keen, bit they gave her a life jacket, and she survived. the boat was ok for a family of 4, and the holiday was a reasonable price, esp as you don't pay anything else, as mooring is generally free, and they include fuel, car parking, you can even cook meals on the boat, although most evenings we found a pub.
the kids did great, even the youngest was able to sail a triangle course, and the oldest was fine on her own sailing the 30 foot yacht.
we wanted a bit of training as we hadn't sailed for 30.years, they gave us 2 options, £75 for half a day refresher, or £400 for 2 full days plus RYA certs. we went for the 2 full days, and I think that was an error, not that the instructior didn't know his stuff or was bad, he was a good bloke, but we didn't get any qualifications, and that was the main reason we choose to pay more. Hopefully we will return.

The kindness and service of the staff at this boat yard are exemplary. The yacht was immaculately clean, hand over efficient but not officious but also thorough. Lovely welcome pack on a well equipped yacht. The weather was not great but we had a superb week. Our dog was made very welcome.
The little extras all matter- everything is included in the price you pay- no extra charge for parking, fuel, dog etc. The offer of a drink on arrival and the care with which my supermarket delivery had been put away was outstanding.
The yacht sailed well, was well maintained and when we did need to ring, a professional and knowledgeable response was received.
Covid safe, friendly and professional sum up the service given.

We hired a yacht for a week from Eastwood Whelpton and we experienced outstanding hospitality from Annie and Andy. Our 27ft yacht (Dawn Wind), although old, was very well maintained and super clean. There were excellent shower and toilet facilities at the boatyard. We were impressed by the little extra touches such as the complimentary bag of goodies and the quality bedding on board. We found the boat easy to handle and got in some good sailing at South Walshsam and Ranworth. Mooring up was pretty straightforward and there are some good pubs around although they can get quite busy so do book ahead where possible. The onboard handbook and map gives helpful information of places to go and suggested routes. This part of Norfolk is very pretty and we saw lots of amazing wildlife - take binoculars. We were a bit unlucky with the weather as it was unusually wet so we would recommend packing plenty of warm clothes and wet weather gear just in case; there’s loads of storage space on board and you can park your car next to the boat for loading and unloading luggage. All in all we would highly recommend Eastwood Whelpton boatyard for anyone with a bit of sailing experience looking for a fun holiday in a beautiful part of the UK.

Eastwood Whelpton are an extremely friendly and professional team and this year also offering a very careful Covid-aware service, along with their traditional warm welcome. Annie and Andy are such sailing enthusiasts, their energy is revitalising. Lovely new loos at yard, probably the best on the Broads and definitely worth a visit. 'South Seas' is a gaff rigged, beautifully crafted boat designed for the Broads. Just boarding begins to replenish the soul and a week aboard is life enhancing. We are amateur sailors with a more experienced young skipper. Engine very useful. Fridge is fantastic and very neat and serviceable oven/hob. Bunks very comfy. Added extras very welcoming. Exhilarating sailing on Barton and Hickling Broads, and the peace and precision of goose winging up meadow dyke utterly sublime. Other things to do: row to Ranworth from the island moorings; mud weight overnight at Horsey; eat yummy donuts at Potter Heigham, ice creams at Ludham Bridge (served to the mooring by the very kind shop owner) and great pizza at the White Horse Inn Neatishead; book for next year.

Suzy’s team at Eastwood Whelpton boatyard are just the best on the Broads. This long established yard offers beautifully kept sailing yachts of all sizes and a fantastically welcoming and joyful approach to getting you sailing safely. If you haven’t sailed before, don’t be put off, as you’ll get an instructional session before taking over your boat. Sailing is SO much better than those plastic motor tubs you could choose elsewhere, and the perfect, low risk way to introduce children to a powerful experience that few get to have these days. Nothing compares to the magical moment when you kill the engine and move solely under sail power, with only the trickling sounds of the water beneath your keel. We’ve just returned from my tenth holiday with Eastwood Whelpton and it was our best yet, with two families, two boats, and six children (aged two to fifteen). With life jackets on, all of them were constantly jumping in and swimming at every opportunity and having the time of their lives. Eastwood Whelpton is also perfectly placed at the mid-point on The Broads to explore in any direction and cover as much of the water network as you like. If you still have a pulse and you want to inspire your children with skills and memories to last them a lifetime, we can’t recommend this holiday and the good people of this boatyard enough!

We fulfilled a lifetime ambition to go sailing on the Norfolk Broads this summer (July 2021). We were able to achieve this by taking out Lutra for the week, made possible by the excellent team at Eastwood Whelpton. We cannot praise them highly enough for their friendly (and very professional) attitude and support, through booking, to sailing and as we disembarked...an amazing company, who want to encourage the return to sailing on the Broads.
Lutra sailed like a dream, and had everything we needed on board for sailing and catering, and despite our concerns, we successfully lowered and raised the mast without great trouble. The boat and its setup was really designed to take the worries out of sailing someone else's boat and great attention was paid to ensure it was a relaxing holiday, not a source of stress.
We are already in the process of booking next year's trip

Just enjoyed a fantastic week on Leda. A beautiful 34ft gaff rigged yacht that sails like a Norfolk Broads half decker but with all the comforts of a fully fitted yacht. Everyone at the yard is really friendly and welcoming. We had a great time and cannot wait to go back.

These is only one way to sail on the Broads, and that is with Eastwood Whelpton. Their yachts are beautifully maintained, equipped with everything you could possibly require and sail perfectly, A superb four days. Nothing is too much trouble for Annie and Andy. What more could you possibly require?

Great sailing holiday organised by truly lovely people who will go miles out of their way (often literally) to make sure you have a fantastic time. Good facilities, lovely range of boats for all levels of sailing experience and based right in the heart of the broads: a refreshing improvement on Wroxham and Horning. Any problems are solved without delay, the boats range from family friendly Bermudian sloops to beautiful old gaffers but all are very well maintained and clean. Can’t wait to sail again.
