It's really like Jurassic park. Lush green vegetation, waterfalls, muddy, cliff side. We hiked. We didn't get to see it via boat or chopper, but heard that the helicopter views are out of this world and by boat is beautiful - you can often see whales in winter months, dolphins and views of beaches inaccessible by car.

This place is amazing. It's all the hype and then some. Make sure that when you come to Kauai you somehow make it here. The ocean conditions can be tough in winter to do a catamaran tour, but you can do helicopter tours, and you can also drive past the canyon and go to places like Kalaulau lookout and get... More

Wow! It is fabulous. There are only two hikes....a 4 mile one and an all day one. We opted for the 4 mile one. It was beautiful, but definitely not easy. It can be slippery if wet, and there is a lot of up and down climbing on uneven surfaces....It's not really physically so exerting if you are in shape,... More

We left port in a heavy fog. By the time we could see the Na Pali coast, the clouds were mostly confined to the upper parts of the clifts making the scene all the more dramatic. Yes, we did have 10 foot winter swells and some suffering from motion sickness. (Take precautions.) but even they loved the trip. Snorkeling was... More

We left from the east coast of the Island early afternoon. After a 35 minute drive on a 1-3 lane major road, we turned onto a narrow, wildly winding, road which took us into the mountains. After another 40 minute drive, we arrived at Na Pali Lookout, within the State Park. There we saw the canyons, properly described as Hawaii's... More

This was our third trip to Kauai in the winter and it had been a dream of mine to sometime take a sunset cruise along Na Pali Coast. However, winter is not a great time to attempt this as that is when the ocean can be so wild and dangerous that boats cannot safely travel up that coastline. The last... More

The NaPali coast is best visited by tour boat or helicopter , we have done both. My favorite was a 4 hour snorkle/boat tour. AMAZING!

The Na Pali coast is one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. You can hike the Kalalau trail to see it up close or you can take a boat ride to see it from the ocean. The hike is amazing. The first two miles wind up and down, but can be hiked by most everyone. Continuing beyond there... More

We loved the Na Pali Coast State Park. It is beautiful, great hikes are offered, the sandy beach is breath taking. The only negative is there is limited parking. For a state park they really need to find a way to get more parking for people. Extremely crowded but worth the long wait to find a parking spot.

We viewed this area by boat and it was one of the most beautiful scenic areas I have ever seen. The deep canyons and valleys lit by sunlight and shadowed. Waterfalls abound. We also took a helicopter ride over the park. Well worth it.
