    Couples pre holiday treat!
Paid £110 for a couple as we thought it was adult only otherwise we of stayed in usual escape lounge! Self service is good but prefer the bar service. It was fairly empty so it was nice and relaxed. Don’t think the extra money you pay compared to escape is worth it! Especially with a toddler running around.
Dear Joanna, We appreciate you taking the time to leave a rating and we are sorry we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Children may be in the lounge as guests of an airline partner. Kind regards, 1903 Team

    A lounge open to all.
With an afternoon flight, the lounge was crowded. Nice selection of food and drink. Tables to sit at if you have laptops. Great views of the runway and planes taking off. Now many people able to pay for lounges so they are no longer specific airline passengers

Not Adults Only but still worth the money!
This lounge really is worth the money for a couple of hours of escape and calm before your flight! Food was great really tasty and lots of choice - hot pasta option was nice but could have done with being refreshed sooner as it was cold when I had it - bar areas are self service which is good as you can pour as much or as little spirits as you like - fridges could have done with being refilled as most shelves were pretty empty when we got there but just ask someone and it’s done! My biggest gripe was that the lounge was advertised and sold to us as adults only and this is not the case! There were two families in there with children under the age of 10 (rules for the lounge were over the age of 16 only so not sure how they got in…) which came as a surprise to us as we weren’t expecting any children to be there luckily as they started making noise our session was ending and we were set to board our flight. Great food, good drinks and fab views of the runways! We would have spent more in the bars and on food in the airport so again value for money! The Sri Lankan Chicken Curry was divine! We will definitely book the 1903 again!
Dear Sacha, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review of your experience. We are pleased to hear that our team made your experience pleasant and we look forward to seeing you again soon! From time to time, children may be in the lounge as guests of an airline partner. BOOK THIS LOUNGE
This lounge is definitely worth the money. The bar is self-service with eradicates all queues, which we all want to avoid in an airport don’t we! The bar has EVERYTHING and there’s two bars. They are always stocked up and clean/tidy. My favourite drink is a Raspberry Whitley Niell Gin with light Fever-Tree tonic which they had! I payed £45/pp for the lounge which I definitely made up for by having these which would have come to about £15 each in a normal airport bar. So you definitely save money, time, sanity and any possible domestic argument by going here to start your holiday! Food was also very nice. Only reservation was they had no gin glasses so I had to use a large wine glass but it was fine. I can safely say I will book this lounge before any future departures. It’s also much better then the Escape Lounge.

We had excellent customer service and an excellent experience at the Manchester UK 1903 lounge with Jennifer Fisch on June 18th, 2023. She was attentive, courteous, and was an excellent host in general. We tried to thank her with a gratuity and she respectfully and insistently declined. She made our layover very enjoyable

The lounge is the best I’ve used, but stop the fibs!
I was pleasantly enjoying my drinks and fresh fruit which were excellent. The gate call was made stating in t2 20-25 minutes walk to gate 204. This appears to be a lie to manage capacity as as I left a sign at the exit advises 10-15 minutes. I find myself at a gate with no facilities or sign of boarding etc now and feel cheated.

    Manchester T2
We arrived at the lounge at Manchester terminal 2 and went to the desk to book in. The only issue was that our details were not really checked and we were taken to the Escape lounge. I thought this looked a little different from what I had seen online but it wasn’t until my boyfriend went to the toilet that we realised we had been taken to the wrong lounge. At this point we just walked straight in to the 1903 lounge. We had booked the lounge from 04:30am. This was much quieter and was self service (escape lounge was bar service). They had multiple drinks options and the brands were high quality. They also had plenty of alcohol free options. We had a seat right at the window and you could see the full airfield. I couldn’t fault the food either. Full English options were available along with cereals/yoghurt/pastries. The staff were attentive and kept the lounge very clean and tidy. I will be doing this every time I go on holiday now, I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner to be honest. The amount of food and drinks we consumed would have been at least double the price in a Wetherspoons. We didn’t have to worry about queueing up or it being too busy. Highly recommend.

Our 1st visit and won’t be out last
My partner and I visited the T2 lounge around 7:30am on 10th August before our flight to Mexico. Getting into the lounge was easy and it was pretty empty when we arrived. The place had plenty of seating and we found the young male and female to be very pleasant and helpful. The lounge quickly filled up but they appeared to work hard to clear tables and keep the place decent. I went to check out the hot breakfast and was informed we could order fresh eggs but there was a 10 minute wait due to a large number of orders. This was fine as we had waited a while before ordering. The food and drinks on offer we found to be great and exactly what we were looking for. I was nervous about booking this place after seeing so many negative reviews but pleased we booked and have recommended it to family and friends and would happily use the lounge again

    1903 Excellence!
Relaxing, quiet, smart surroundings with an incredible view. We were given a warm welcome by the staff, and a quick tour of what was on offer. We tried every dish, delicious! All washed down with very, very good Champagne. Worth every penny and HIGHLY recommended.

Filthy seating and obnoxious receptionist.
Easily one of my worst lounge experiences. I politely asked staff to clear a table which was loaded with glasses and cups so that i could work and she was incredibly rude, telling me to sit somewhere else. The cloth seating in the same area was absolutely filthy. The food options are poor and limited and the noise absent nouse cancelling headphones really terrible. The main terminal seating areas are generally better. I wouldn’t use 1903 again.

Our first visit to 1903.
First impressions all good. Food adequate but nothing speciall. Plenty of good quality alcohol. Cleanliness lacking. Tables not cleared and toilets not particularly clean. View from the large full height windows was over a building site. Was it worth the £100 ish pounds for the two of us. No.

A warm welcome just after 4am when lounge opened. Polite and friendly hosts. Our second time in 1903 and will book for next year too. I cannot fault the entire experience from start to finish and knew when booking we were allowed a 2 hour stay which was fine with us and fitted in perfectly with our travel plans. Breakfast and drinks plentiful, coffee very good. I honestly don't know why there are negative reviews when we have had superb service on every visit. Thank you and hope to see you again soon.

Been a few times and previously really enjoyed the experience. However they have changed the offer and now it's just like any other airport lounge. It's no longer self service, champagne no longer available, less space as they have put more sets in and food offering not as great. Next trip I will book a normal lounge for a lower price- such a shame they changed a winning formula

In summary Don't waste your money! We booked into 1903 lounge 3hrs prior to departure (as confirmed on tickets) only to be informed by staff that you only get 2 hours in the lounge so we were told to leave a whole hour before we had planned and actually only ended up getting 1hr 20 mins in the lounge due to check in not opening until 3 hours prior and staff wouldn't budge on altering the time. We also were told strictly no sportswear and dress code is smart/casual. Despite calling to explain I had hip and mobility issues and requesting to be allowed to wear leggings I was told this was not suitable resulting in me wearing less comfortable clothing to comply with the dress code, however when we arrived there were many people in full tracksuits and various sports attire allowed in with no issue! The food was very limited and for long periods nothing was available as it was not replenished, crisps were in a sweet jar (not packets) and staff were less than helpful, in fact they were quite rude when we queried things such as dress code and lack of food and the time allowed. Overall I'd stick to the other lounges which imo provided much better service despite this supposedly being the higher quality premium lounge. Not worth the money or stress!

The reviews for this lounge are pretty mixed so I was a bit worried when we booked because we've been lucky enough to visit a number of exec/business class lounges over the year, but I definitely didn't need to be!

We booked 2 spaces less than 12 hours beforehand and had no trouble with availability. The "check in" experience was fine, apart from a couple who were complaining very loudly about Virgin Atlantic ruining their lounge timings because the flight was delayed.... you honestly can't make some people happy!

Once we were in the lounge it was very light and spacious - the breakfast was still out @ 11am but everything was still fresh and hot. They quickly cleared it away at 12 and brought out lunch which included hot meals and afternoon tea.

The (help-yourself) bars were very well stocked. The coffee was lovely and we couldn't fault the food at all.

The staff are not very communicative so you really have to work hard to get a "good morning", but I can only assume they've been told only speak to Lounge customers when they are spoken to....

We were given a card with a time on it when we checked in and a girl did walk around to check they were all still valid at 12, but she was very pleasant and discreet so no issues there.

The only downside was that this lounge doesn't over look the runway but instead has views over the T2 gates so very little action due to it being a long haul hub.

There is a lot of construction work going on in front of the lounge too but it didn't have a negative impact on our experience.

All in all, I would say, 1908 isn't the most luxurious or glamorous lounges we have visited, but it's a lovely, quiet place to start your holiday and we will definitely book again.

Booked this last year and it was 5 out of 5.
Used again 04/12 and just wasn't the same. There was 1 poor lady on her own trying to replenish all of the food and keep everyone happy. There were a few grumpy people as they were kept waiting but it was clear that it was because she had no help. Also the food was just strange, macaroni cheese, fish pie, potatoes, bacon or sausage? Not a good combo to make a meal out of, the food was much better last year.
The drinks selection was good and the place was clean but they need to look into improving the food selection, and getting more help putting the food out.

Want to also follow up on previous review below regarding Priority Pass bookings - I have tried to place bookings at all Manchester Airport Lounges for the two dates that I’m travelling through the airport in May and June. I’m unable to make a booking through the Priority Pass website as no availability but if I pay for the booking via another booking platform I can make the reservation. Very disappointing for Priory Pass members! Shame on you Manchester Airport!

I’ve always enjoyed this lounge. Today, Virgin Atlantic upgraded me to business class which included a pass to the 1903 lounge. That’s great, but I had already purchased a lounge pass for £59.90. The lady at the desk said I can request a refund but I don’t see anywhere in the Manchester Airport website that explains this. Hard to believe I’m the first person this has happened to. Any idea on how to request a refund for over payments?
