    Awful waste of money
Have always used the lounges and yes they are expensive but have always felt worth the cost to avoid the hussle of the terminal in peak holiday season. This year - total waste of money. Arrived around 4 in the morning, told to sit anywhere...Virtually every table had a reserved sign on it. Finally found a couple of chairs with a coffee table to sit at. No unreserved tables of any height to sit comfortably at to eat. Both me and my partner are 6 ft so difficult to bend down that far to eat and felt like we were eating breakfast on the floor. Lounge was unbearably hot and noisy. Left the lounge earlier than would have and found seats in the main terminal which were not only more comfortable but it was actually quieter and and cooler. I think a lot of holiday companies offer free lounge access which has totally ruined the experience and made them overcrowded and pushed the prices up.
Dear jlcalti100, We're sorry that you were disappointed with your experience. We would appreciate the opportunity to learn a little more about your visit and how we can improve. Please contact us at enquiries@escapelounges.com at your convenience. Thank you, Escape Team.

Lovey lounge - ignore bad reviews
Please ignore the terrible reviews of the escape lounge at terminal 1. Me and my family (group of 6, all above 21) had a lovely relaxing time before our flight here. First of all the staff were all really friendly and working tirelessly to keep the place running, they were probably understaffed. We were allocated a nice sofa section in a quieter area which was nice, the seats were comfy but the floors needed a hoover but it wasn’t horrendous. (If you are a couple you may be seated right by the bar & food which may not be as relaxing as you may want). The hot food options were great, different chicken wings, sausages, two types of pasta, veggie chilli and corn on the cob, all delicious. Cold food included three types of sandwiches, crisps, potato salad etc and again that was all really tasty too and none of it was dry or had been out ages as they were constantly replacing the food. There was also chocolate muffins, fruit and cheese & crackers. We all kept going back for more! The only bad thing regarding the food areas was that the counters & floors could have been kept a bit cleaner and it would’ve been good to have some rice with the chilli, but as mentioned before the staff were already working tirelessly to keep the place running. Drinks were great too with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, fruit juices, a self-serve coffee machine was excellent and a water cooler to fill your water bottles. The atmosphere was quite loud when we arrived but very quickly quietened down and there was free wifi to use. We were worried about the dress code that was on the website so we dressed quite smart but it appeared that they weren’t really upholding it. The toilets were just outside the lounge and none of us needed to queue. Overall it was lovely to just sit down, relax and enjoy some food and have a drink before our flight, thank you to all the staff!
Hi , thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our escape lounge. We're glad to hear that you and your family had a lovely and relaxing time before your flight. We appreciate your feedback and will take note of your suggestions regarding cleanliness . We hope to welcome you back soon!

Felt was a waste of money ☹️
First time booking a lounge and felt it was a total waste of £120 for the four of us, food wasn’t great, felt like we were sat in an M&S cafe, no windows to look out of, too busy and generally not a great pre holiday atmosphere. Left after 10 minutes - went to the bar/restaurant looking out on the run way and had amazing food there. Won’t be booking this again unfortunately 🙁

    Definitely not 'Premium'.
So the positives are the staff are friendly, the drinks range is OK, and the food was reasonable. That said, it is windowless, tired and half the clientele have either drank too much or seem intent to do so. Not worth the entry fee, I'm surprised they can call it Premium.
Hi Ant, thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your kind words about our friendly staff, drinks range, and reasonable food. We're sorry to hear about your concerns regarding the ambiance and clientele. We'll take your comments into consideration to improve our service.

    Wel done Escape lounge
The lounge is well run with a large selection of foods and drinks. Unlike some of the lounges the prosecco is free, no extra charges once you have paid. Well decorated with plenty of seating and friendly staff. Disadvantages: Reserved seats not very clear, whilst we were there, twenty people came to the seats next to us, they were reserved, but the flat card used to mark the reserved seats is not visible until you are 4-5 feet away (Would suggest some form of bright card in possibly a cube or pyramid shape, that can be seen easily. Toilets are outside the lounge, but not very far away. Advantages Large lounge with traditional eating tables and chairs, as well as lounging chairs, quiet areas out of the eating area. Food regularly refreshed, coffee machines clean and tidy.
Hi Paul, thank you for your positive feedback on our well-run lounge with a great selection of food and drinks. We appreciate your suggestions regarding reserved seats and will look into improving visibility. We're glad you enjoyed the advantages of our large lounge. We hope to welcome you back soon!

    Very disappointing
We prebooked this lounge as we were going on our honeymoon so wanted a treat! We were told to go and sit in the room behind the food and bar, which we went to, however there was a toddler in there blaring their iPad - not relaxing at all! So we moved and sat elsewhere. Don’t know if there should be a rule on this. The food was average at best, it was lunch time. There was half the food left from breakfast, and then some sandwiches, crisps and salad. The bar was great. I asked if I could use the baby change that was located in the lounge, but was told it’s best to use the one that was outside of the lounge and a walk back through into the terminal. Very annoying and strange??? There was no windows so it was boiling and also very dark. It was kind of like a budget waiting room, not a luxury lounge. We paid £70 for the experience - definitely not worth it at all.
Hi, thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your visit. We appreciate your suggestions. Thank you for choosing our lounge and we hope to improve your experience in the future.

    Could be better
This was my first visit and I would not repeat the experience. There was nothing wrong with the food/drinks, or the staff but with no windows and natural light, it feels dark and depressing. I was greeted by a nice guy, who checked me in, and directed me to one of the single seats, around the back of the lounge. The seats are not particularly comfortable, and the tables a bit small and the overall feeling is that you are in a big box, shoved away in the corner of the airport. As I say, the food was fine, and the staff perfectly pleasant but it just doesn't make you feel that relaxed before your flight.
HI SaleDamc Thank you for your review . We are happy you had a good experience in the lounge as first time. We would love you to return ion the future and hopefully see any changes . With regards to window and lighting , we are very limited in what we can do , but feedback is very good

    Avoid- poor with no standards
We booked a space in the Escape Lounge in Terminal 1 before our holiday and it was not great. There were children running around who were screaming along with their parents shouting after them. They claim to have a dress code which is not enforced- lots of men in baseball caps and women wearing hardly any clothes- great if that’s your thing but hardly a classy venue. Several people walked in to use the lounge with their credit cards and were told it was full- it wasn’t there was always around 15 empty seats…. Shoddy at best and I would seriously avoid booking this
Dear Passenger 07687232029 We value your comments and sorry you did not have a good experience . We take the dress code seriously and we will try to ensure this is adhere to at all times. Some seats maybe empty due to pre-bookings that were due in or were late arriving . We hope to see you again

    Ok for drinks, food poor
Food was all very bland and not great quality, we were there from breakfast to lunch, so had both menus. Sausages at breakfast were ok, typical cheap sausages, rest of it meh. Lunch menu wasn’t much of an improvement, basic sandwiches and a few hot dishes. The Thai green curry ok, same for the cottage pie. Staff, one very helpful, rest pretty surly and unhelpful- we’re trying to get some salt and pepper/sauces and were just pointed to the empty station where they were supposed to be… It was pretty full, we were lucky to get some seats. Thankfully the alcohol was free flowing, so we got our money worth’s there.
Hi Greg, We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any disappointment you experienced with our selection. We value your input and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our offerings. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We hope to see you again in T1 Many thanks Escape Team T1

    Good value/not good Prosecco.
At around £35 per person this is an excellent value lounge. We arrived around 11am so breakfast was still on but it was moving into lunch. Food wise breakfast was traditional cooked items, white bread rolls, coffee/ tea machines, all tasted great. Lunch was a select of sandwiches, cheese and biscuits and crisps and also meals like sweet potato Thai curry, rice, cottage pie, cauliflower cheese, potatos. All tasty and filled regularly. Beer and Guinness cans and bottles are just help yourself and there’s a bar serving unbranded spirits and wine/prosecco. Point to note, if it’s Prosecco you’re going for I didn’t think it tasted very nice, it lost its sparkle quickly and was on draught. A lot of guests left theirs too. Plenty of seats and the only annoyance are uncontrolled kids and semi drunk parents. Not enough charging points/sockets really either. Good value though, would go again.
Hi J3419TRmartins Thank you for your kind words regarding your visit to our lounge. We're pleased you enjoyed the food. I'm sorry you were disappointed with our Frizzante, it is actually a semi sparkling wine as advertised and not a Prosecco. We look forward to seeing you again on your next trip. Many thanks The Escape Team

Not a pleasant environment. No windows, poor lighting.
Screaming kids…and I mean screaming.
I book lounges to do a bit of work…not a single place available to work, loads of empty, never to be used tables with reserved signs, so I was dumped in a corner to use the only plug in view anywhere…and even then a light had to be unplugged. A coffee table…not a useful place if you want food, or to use a mouse with a laptop.
Seated next to a group of 6 foul-mouthed guys, you know the kind…can’t string a sentence together without the f-word. Yes there were children nearby, not that they or the staff seemed to care.
The food was acceptable and saved this from being a one star review. The remnants of breakfast, particularly the sausages were fine and when lunch came out a bit later, that looked ok too, but I didn’t try any of it.
The drinks however, were awful; cheap, nasty brands, John Smiths, weak Carlsberg, Bulmers…plus an awful local lager on tap…served in 1/3 or 2/3 of a pint. Penny pinching at its saddest. Guinness was available…in a can, no thanks.
Spirits were available too, but again, only bottom end stuff. Every single overseas lounge I’ve visited has Johnny Walker Black Label whisky…or often something better. Here, Bells. Nasty.
A malfunctioning coffee machine was there too and sometimes it looked like guests got a coffee from it.
Another positive; some of the staff worked hard, cleaning up and were really polite too.

However, it is without doubt, the worst lounge I’ve used.

Overcrowded, no tables available despite pre booking. Staff were helpful and food and drinks were readily available. Would not pay for this again but if included in flight tickets would go in.

Arrived just before 11am and was greeted by a friendly male on reception, took details of the booking and said a table had been reserved for us, which he showed us to and explained what facilities were available.
Breakfast was still out and it was the usual of sausages, bacon, eggs etc as well as pastries and cereals/bread/fruit.
Lunch came out around 30 minutes later and there were 3 different sandwiches on platters plus mac and cheese (can't remember what other hot food was out). The food was totally fine considering it was hot buffet style.
Staff were all friendly and quickly took away empty plates and were all polite and pleasant.
Any queue at the bar was brief and the staff behind the bar were friendly. There were also drinks in fridges which you could help yourself to. Coffee out of the machine was also drinkable 😁
Overall the lounge was clean and tidy, and a pleasant experience overall. I have previously visited the Escape lounge at T2 and would consider this one to be cleaner and tidier. Would certainly use this lounge again if travelling from T1.

Once again booked this through my revolut account (dragon pass)I arrived at the lounge early morning,as per usual the miserable ladies on the desk said they were full, even though there was around 20 people in the lounge. This happened to me last time, anyway I complained and they said I could sit at a high wooden table on an uncomfortable chair.I noticed majority of the tables all had reserved signs on,most not until the afternoon. An hour and a half after I arrived the lounge was still empty, the coffee machine had stopped working 3 times,I was trying to get the attention of the ladies supposedly clearing up but they was to busy chatting about what they had done at the weekend.i decided to move to a comfier chair but felt I was on edge. The breakfast was just about edible. To sum up,ignorant, arrogant unhelpful staff.Better lounges to choose

Lovely lounge very smart and comfortable.
I was worried after reading reviews which were terrible regarding staff, food and actual lounge.
Greeted by a lovely friendly young girl and told to choose our own seating area, which we did. Food choices were chilli, rice, and delicious hot garlic bread or a pasta goulash. Lots of different salads and dressings. Hummus, tortilla chips, cheese and crackers. Mini chocolate muffins. No queue at the bar and all the staff very courteous and friendly.
We would definitely use the Aspire escape lounge again.

Possibly the best lounge experience that we've had - Charlie and Kamila were extremely helpful with assisting us and ensured that the start of our journey was as stress free as possible and we're very grateful for their help.

A very disappointing experience and will not be booking this lounge again.

We were there for breakfast and the food and drinks options were very limited when compared to the 1903 lounges especially considering the price we paid was almost the same as our last visit 2 months previous to a 1903.

Food quality at the Escape was well below what we expected for the price, especially when booking it stated 'Premium' but nowhere on the booking confirmation could I find that word used and I can see why.

The lounge is dark, depressing and definitely not relaxing. Not a single window, so no airfield views. It feels like a function room at a working men's club.

We paid just over £100 for the two of us and we lasted maybe 30 minutes before we had to walk out as the atmosphere was oppressive and the experience was not enjoyable at all.

Such a shame that an airport the size of Manchester can't offer more lounge options, especially in T1 as the only options at time of writing are this one and the Aspire (again, not a good experience).

I have used this lounge a couple of times and this visit was below par with others.... sadly it was the staff that let it down... not the food/drinks/lounge itself. The reception/greeting was staffed by a very rude and uninterested lady.....and things did not improve with a very uninterested, rude and incapable mature eastern european waitress who clearly did not want to be there! The young waitress was very busy and great, as was the bar man who I have seen there previously..... It is meant to be a pleasant start to peoples journey.... Time for some staff appraisals from management?

This is about the fourth time I've used the Escape Lounge at T1 and unfortunately the standard has really dropped. It's far too busy and noisy. Children are running around and it looks like the dress code for adults is being overlooked.

The food choice is a bit disappointing too. The only sandwiches on offer are cheese or egg.

I have to say it's not really worth the charge, you might as well stay in the departure lounge unless you want to over eat or over drink.

Terrible!! The lounge was disgusting, food on the floor, dirty tables, dirty glasses etc left on the tables. The food selection was just as bad, 2 types of sandwiches that were stale, ham and egg mayo. The mains: Thai curry, mash, Mac & cheese and chicken drumsticks, not what was advertised. The staff were rude and clearly it was a chore to have to serve anyone who wanted a drink or some information.
