I'm gobsmacked by the amount of bad reviews given by people comparing this to cadburys. There is no comparison! If you want to buy cheap crappy chocolate then go to the Cadbury factory. Anvers was great, we liked the history of the chocolate making it was great & it was good to see it being handmade. We were there early... More

While visiting my mother, the House of Anvers was recommended as a breakfast destination. We arrived around 0900 on Saturday morning, found the parking easily under the large and shady trees and were quickly seated in one part of the restaurant. Although the restaurant is only metres from the Bass Highway, we were unable to hear the traffic noise or... More

We arrived mid afternoon with plans of a decadent afternoon tea as it had been recommended by several of our friends! It was to be our last stop on our holiday and one I had been looking forward to. The location was very pretty and there a few neat displays showing the history of chocolate. We were greeted, sat at... More

I am a reformed chocoholic but could not drive past House of Anvers having heard so many reviews! Had a little tasting and just had to buy some truffles and rocky road. Watched the ladies packaging the amazing Easter eggs. What beautiful gifts they would make, wish we lived closer! We then watched the staff at work and visited the... More

This is always our first stop after getting off the Ferry. A breakfast of salmon baguette with Aztec hot chilli chocolate, delicious. If your there when the shop is open you can follow up with an ice cream & a few chocolate tastings. The staff are always friendly & helpful, the food delicious. We stopped here three times on our... We stopped here on our way back to Cradle Mountain. Chocolate is all handmade and delicious. The dark choc truffle and strawberry truffle were my favourite's. If you are in the area you should stop by, even stroll over to the viewing window to watch the ladies hard at work.

Dear "Jug02", thank you for your recent review. I am glad you tasted a Truffle that you enjoyed, these are our original creations, but still as popular as ever - just goes to show that if you are doing something well ... don't change anything and keep doing it! Hopefully the treats lasted you the trip to Cradle, we hope... More

Nice hot chocolate, nice waffles and the smoked salmon was tasty - although Id seen photos where the smoked salmon was plentiful and I got one thin single layer. You wont go wrong, but nothing earth shattering.

This is a must stop for me sweets shop. Whenever I'm in Tasmania, Anvers is my go to place for chocolate! The chilli hot chocolate is a great way to start the day.

Dear Charles, thank you for your recent review. It is always great to hear from "return" customers, we feel we must be doing something well in order for this to happen :). Our Chilli Hot Chocolates are as popular as ever, and in the morning it is definitely a heart starter. We hope to continue seeing you when you visit... More
