Stumbled across this house whilst ambling around the centre. Easy to imagine the life of the house in days gone by, helped by the selection of old photos. Rooms are laid out well and to come across an old radio was a nice touch! If...More

This was an old teakwood mansion built during King Rama V for the Governor of Phrae province. It is beautiful, sacred and full of history. During their majesties King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit's visit to Phrae, this mansion was where they stayed.

This is a very interesting place to visit, if your interested in history it was the highlight of my short trip, see how the people lived in a very nice house with the jail in the basement, also it is free to visit.

This slightly austere house is worth visiting if you’re in the area. Personal items that belonged to the Prince and Princess of Phrae are on display, along with many photographs of a bygone era. I couldn’t help wondering how it must have been to live...More
