Excellent way to find out the northern parts of Ontario used to get children to get an education. The hardships that the teacher and family endured should be an example to their modern day counter parts.

This is a museum on a railway car. The car has been restored to the days when it travelled between remote northern Ontario towns where schooling was not available. The staff are fascinating interesting people who really know the subject matter.

We stopped on our way through Clinton on a local Sunday drive. The museum was not open but you could look in the cars and see the schoolroom. Very interesting.

This is the actual railcar that was used in Northern Ontario to bring a teacher to the wilderness many years ago. The complete story, including how the abandoned car was found, transported to Clinton and restored. Fascinating. Excellent guide. Admission by donation.
