Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Okay, I'm so happy I discovered this spa in Bohol and got to experience excellent care at a cost. I recommend this place, very cozy.

I really enjoyed the classes I went to. Highly recommend! Paul was a great teacher and the space had a great vibe.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful massage at Sanando. It was our ninth massage in 2.5 weeks and our second at Alona Beach (we clearly are massage-obsessed). Though it was more expensive than the others we enjoyed throughout our travels in the Philippines, the massage and the facilities make it worth it. By western standards, the 1500p per person fee for 100 minutes is still really cheap.

During that 100 minutes, they wash your feet, perform about a 90 minute massage, and then clean you off with warm, wet towels so that you don’t have to spend the rest of the day oily. They also serve a small dessert at the end.

As other reviews have mentioned, the massage therapists use their whole hand and apply pressure using their body weight. I would say it was a combination of Swedish, deep tissue, and a bit of lymphatic drainage (particularly on the legs). You can select how much pressure you want. I personally appreciated that they do a light “warm-up” for about 5 minutes, then specifically ask you how much pressure you prefer.

The facilities are very clean, and while they have an A/C unit in the room, it wasn’t too cold (which was the case during some of our massages in the Philippines). They have both an individual room and a couples room, but that’s all I really saw, so I can imagine that’s why this place books up quickly. We were lucky to get an appointment the day we visited. They are open from 1:00pm to 10:00pm (last massage at 8:30pm), but are closed on Wednesdays. We stopped in around 10:30am, and while they were not yet performing massages, they did make reservations. We were able to book for 3:30pm, their only opening for the day. You are required to pay a 50% deposit, but if you cannot make it, you can get the deposit back as long as you cancel one hour beforehand (or it might have been two hours, but something very reasonable).

They do not allow any bags, backpacks, cell phones, etc. into the massage room, but they have lockers with keys that you can use for free. Larger backpacks or bags will likely not fit though, but I am sure they can store them behind the reception desk.

If you’re looking for a relaxing massage treat at Alona Beach and your budget can afford it, we would recommend you try Sanando.

Instead of a more or less public massage at Alona Beachbabe I chose for the somewhat more private salon Nuat Thai. They're very responsive via Facebook. I got a Swedish full bodymassage, which was supposedly more relaxing than the Thai massage. It was relaxing indeed, though at times it also was firm, a tiny bit painful even. The place looks nice, they use clean towels, proper massagetables and afterwards you can drink some hot tea.

Been going to this gym for a week now and it is the best on the island!
Awesome "hole in the wall" gym, friendly staff, clean, not to busy, pre-workout and protein shakes available for the small prices of 50P, and so much more. Keep doing what you are doing!
1small thing i would love to see are some more dumbbells but even now if you're a bit creative with the exercises you can make it work.
    Time to grow 💪

We visited 3 times, the reception staff are not particularly friendly, but we were never kept waiting for our treatment (we had made an appt as they seemed very busy).

The masseurs were professional, no talking or phones, although I was left by one with some bruises.

No drink was offered after the treatment.

The cost was not much more than the beach prices but in a cool environment.

We visited a famous massage , magic carpet in Panglao. Girls who massage give me a good massage. (Slightly stronger Shiatsu power) I visited this time with an introduction of an acquaintance, but I would like to come back if I have the opportunity to visit the Philippines again.

Myself and 3 friends visited this salon to get gel nails and eyelash extensions. Staff were very rude, constantly laughing and spoke in their own language while doing our nails. Gel nails were lumpy. Eyelash glue was very strong, extensions were very synthetic. Overpriced for the services provided.
