Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Take a drink with you because it’s thirsty work, oh and sensible shoes.
Don’t bother with the food and drinks kiosks, expensive and rude.

Great mode of transport, very cheap and can go miles and very good sights. You can get a bus to Alicante and then a tram to Benidorm. Great 👍

Beautiful promenade. Many different type of restaurants on the side. Some souvenirs kiosks. The marina is on the other side. A must for Alicante.

Very good museum showing the whole history of the region. Definitely worth visiting if you are into history, some very interesting pieces of art. The museum is very well done as well.

Lovely place to visit lots of amazing photo opportunities. The blue pots and the steps leading up to the park are gorgeous. Visited at Easter and managed to see the possession. A lovely neighbourhood

It’s a slaughterhouse really. I was told it’s the largest meat and fish market in Spain. Certainly every part of the animals was exposed, displayed and for sale from prime cuts to offal. The building looks like a train station from the outside.

One floor is mostly devoted to land animals chiefly pig, followed by cow. Didn’t see any goat, lamb or horse but I didn’t look too hard. Another floor has fruit and veg one end and fish the other. Outside at the back was a flower market.

It’s clear that the pig is king and it is cheap apart from the specialist charcuterie which at the top end was way over €100 a kilo. They sell every part of this animal and the only thing unsold/uneaten appears to be the oink. I saw the biggest pigs trotters I’ve ever seen.

Ireland used to have chippies that sold fish and chips and pig trotters and the saying was that there was eating and reading in them as like the fish & chips they were served wrapped in newspaper. Pig trotters from the chippy were tasty but very greasy and in a cold night a film of pig fat congealed around your mouth and once you wiped with the newspaper you instead had a gob of cheap printing ink.

Oh the romance of the 1960’s. Many trotters still had hairs on so you could pick your teeth too.

Back from meandering; given the local area has 1500 restaurants, hundreds of bars and cafes and a third of a million population I’d say that the traders are always busy. We got there around noon so at the latter end of market trading.

There’s a few eateries within. One place we spotted offered 4 fresh oysters with a glass of champagne for €22 or if you took a Prosecco style fizz €20. We weren’t long after brekky so we couldn’t avail. Maybe sometime. Definitely worth a visit but I’d understand various vegans and vegetarians may want to be elsewhere.

Super! Excellent for kids and adults. Centrally located and good to spend an hour there to learn a bit about Alicante's culture and traditions. Free admission is certainly a bonus.

So, lovely artwork, but baffling toilets: they complement the art... challenging, provocative, and a disagreement could cause long-term damage.

I had a very short experience since the pastor threw all of the tourists out in a couple of seconds. Yet it is indeed one of the Alicante gems in terms of architecture in general and (especially interior) unique Gothic style. As a musician, I was also impressed by an organ inside. You'd be lucky if you had an opportunity to hear it.
