Well patrolled sheltered beach, had great fun here all week with kids 3-11, pretty quiet in relation to other beaches, copes well when busy, fun waves for body boarding too!
Great beach safe, great for families, sometime surfing or for doing nothing, patrolled during summer one the best beaches in NSW.

We saw whales, fished saw sunrises, built sandcastles etc a great family friendly spot.
Last year I took my children there for the first time on our own sojurn to the sleepy village now a bustling little town with a functioning port and glorious access to incredible east case seafood.

The Saphire coast has some of the best beaches and scenery in Australia and Merimbula is fabulous for it beaches as it accomodates surf as well as safe beaches for children .
... and return is exactly 5 kms - great for a morning jog Very flat surface so if just strolling good for kids Lots for the kids to see (sometimes there are resting seals) and at low tide - fish, crabs etc Benches...

Had a great train ride and got to pat aspey ( a snake) under the guidance of John who was very good at explaining about snakes to children and adults alike.

The headland walk across a grassy park now has a path to make if friendlier for wheelchairs and the rocky Short Point headland can be a fun place for kids to explore (under supervision for the younger ones).
This is a great beach a small area where it’s patrolled perfect for families with small children.

In Summer it would be an amazing swimming spot and apparently families have used this swimming spot for over 100 years.

Was perfectly safe and the kids had an amazing time looking at the various fish as well as a few stingrays.
Kianinny bay is (mostly) protected from waves and provides a calm body of water to swim with younger children or for those who aren't keen on being battered by waves.

The kids love all the things they can touch and discover on the touch table, the different sea life that they can see - especially the sea urchins in the touch tank and the cheeky Octopus in her tank!
The children just loved looking at the fish, and especially the rock pool where they could actually touch various sea creatures while the staff member carefully explained everything about each creature.
