The architecture is pleasant but what makes it special is the very relaxed atmosphere and the great little shops, historical sites and restaurants it offers.

Just sitting on the side and listening to the sound of those fountains as they pump the water in a slow, playful way, fills you with such peace that to me it is by far one of the most remarkable landmarks in Basel.
The water are freezing in Winter - that’s gives an interesting art ;) Have a beautiful view to the tower of the Elizabeth church.

On a sunny day it is stunning to just stand and gaze at the beautiful facade, the inner courtyard and some of the wonderful statues on view.
Nice tower and clock as well, Inside area is also nicely painted but best views are from the outside.
