- AbyCatLadyGrant-Valkaria, FL24 contributionsWe have visited Podere la Chiesa during our yearly stays in Tuscany since 2018. Palma and Maurizio are always welcoming, and it is so obvious how much passion they have for their land and their wines. Palma always has a feast for the mouth and the eyes to accompany the delicious wines you taste. Also be sure to tour their amazing gallery featuring talented local and international artists - in fact, the entire building and views of the vineyards through the "grape" windows are works of art!Written 15 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Judy MOrlando, FL30 contributionsAs others have reviewed, we were met at Castelvecchio by Julia. This is a working winery and was very busy getting ready for its Christmas shipping of wines. So it was noisy, busy and real! Julia ran us through the wines that Castelvecchio produced then took us to a large room behind the wine vats where we had a very nice charcuterie board with 5 wine tastings. Two whites, a rose and two reds.
The wines were not the best I've ever had but were good. The bottles and labels are very unique and creative. Julia will share that story with you.
The cost was around $70 for two of us which I thought was definitely worth it. Basically we had a tasting with dinner!
The location of the winery is very nice, very secluded but easy to find. I'd guess it's about an hour from many of the Tuscan towns--Pisa, Florence, Lucca, etc. Worth the drive.Written 12 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Beautiful environment and a great restaurant. The wine was wonderful.
Great compliments to the chef and the waiter and all other members off the staff who made us feeling like homeWritten 20 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were treated to a very interesting and informative tour of the winery followed by a great wine tasting experience of six different wines all accompanied by great quality meats, cheese and breads.
The wine itself was excellent and so well priced - we took several bottles away with us for later consumption.
They even offer a shipping service, so we're contemplating what to have sent home!
All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon .Written 20 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. And, it was our best meal- which is saying a lot. It truly is hands-on cooking, and we were there for about 4 hours. The farm itself is beautiful! This was worth every penny, and we hope to do it again some day!Written 28 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
