Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Helen BThirsk, UK27 contributionsIt's like stepping back in time (apart from the cars!). Beautifully kept cottages, a superb church, good pubs and a car park with clean toilets, all set in a simply stunning valley. There's even a tiny but useful shop. I could spend all summer here.Written 19 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- alan314118 contributionsThe museum is absolutely packed with memorabilia of village and farming life. Today was our second visit and every time we saw something new and interesting. Good coffee and fruit cake with Wensleydale cheese too.Written 14 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andrew CEngland, UK36 contributionsLovely little waterfall off the beaten track ,,, very pretty , go a day or two after some rain if you can for best experience,,, wear some sturdy shoes as you have to navigate some slippery rocks and pools for best view ,,, parking for one or two cars at the most.Written 21 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - albeback1Eccles, UK5,076 contributionsWent to see the highest train station in England whilst visiting nearby Dent. At 1150 feet above sea level it’s pretty remote and the access road is quite steep.Written 8 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jean KDolanog, UK31 contributionsLovely walk from Stone House. Park by the river and having crossed the bridge, take the Arten Gill Viaduct signposted footpath. We continued along the track to where it is crossed by the Pennine Bridleway, before turning back. Stunning views for miles!Written 24 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- emerillonNorth West England, UK52 contributionsVery pretty walk from Dent (opposite car park) with items of historical interest on the steep and stony climb up . The way flattens out eventually and there is a short climb to a lovely viewpoint making the effort worthwhile . Needs quite a bit of puff though and the surface can be slippy particularly on the descent. Didn’t see a soul until the final few minutes on the way down but imagine it can get busy at peak times as the path is quite worn in places . No sign of any waterfalls though despite some recent rain .Written 4 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
