On this special tour, we will travel out of Siem Reap to Preah Vihear temple in Preah Vihear province. Preah Vihear was built on the top of a 525-meter cliff between Cambodia and Thailand border. It gives the best view of forest and villages. After visiting Preah Vihear temple, we'll head over to Koh Ker temple group. The most famous temple in Koh Ker is Prasat Thom, a 30m-phyramid shape temple, standing high above the plain and the surrounding forest. Finally, we will go to Beng Mealea which mean Lotus Pond in English. The temple is believed to be the sister of Angkor Wat for its similar model. The temple is largely unrestored with big trees and thick brush growing on the top of the tower. When the tour has finished we'll drop you back to your hotel or any other location in Siem Reap town.

We head to the lost temple of Beng Mealea, the titanic of temples, a slumbering giant lost for centuries in the forests of Cambodia. Nature is re-staking her claim on the ruins of Beng Mealea. En route, pass small traditional villages before coming upon this mysterious temple being enveloped by the jungle. You’ll understand the thrill French explorer Henri Mouhot surely felt when he came upon the overgrown temples of Angkor in the mid-19th century. Next, continue drive to Koh Ker served as the capital of the Khmer Empire from 928-944 A.D. Within Koh Ker is Prasat Thom, a tall temple mountain which offers a sweeping view of the forest and plain below. Within the complex itself are temples dedicated to the Hindu deities Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma. Given its isolation and distance from Siem Reap, Koh Ker exudes a quiet, peaceful charm that stands in contrast to Angkor Wat.

PRASAT KOH KER is in Preah Vihear province as well. This temple is like a Pyramid with seven levels up to the sky. Don’t miss the panoramic view from the top, wonderful for photos. We’ll also see smaller temples in the group – Prasat Krachap, Prasat Neang Kmao, Prasat Ling, Moat, and Prasat Bram, Prasat Chen. Most of these temples are cover by jungle as this area was abandoned and only recently discovered. PRASAT BOENG MEALEA This temple is quite different to other temple sites. It has not been repaired and you can see how it looked when discovered. See how the jungle took over, causing the temple to collapse. Wander around the ruins, find a quiet place to contemplate the history. Many photo opportunities for you.

Absolutely amazing trip, I got so much insight of the history and culture in ome trip. The guide Ry is very knowledgeable and interested in history of the country. Absolutely professional, time management impeccable.
The tour company was very professional from the start. They sent me an email with all the details beforehand. I opted for a join in trip, since nobody was there, it became a private tour, the company could have cancelled but they didn't.
It was great. I did a koh kher and Beng Mealea tour with them.

Panha is amazing! I highly recommend him for tours based out of Siem Reap. He is super knowledgeable, speaks excellent English, is very friendly, flexible with travel plans and pickup, and has a comfortable vehicle with lots of space.

We booked Panha’s Preah Vihear tour because it was highly recommended. We wanted to see this place as its one of the most significant temples in Cambodia and a UNESCO World Heritage site, yet few visitors to Siem Reap ever make the journey. It’s an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva completed in the 12th century atop a mountain and along Cambodia’s borders with Thailand and Laos. This temple has an interesting history including military battles with Thailand only a decade and a half ago over ownership of the temple! And unlike the major temples of Angkor, it is not crowded.

On the way back, Panha surprised us with a stop at Koh Ker, a massive temple in the form of a 7-tiered pyramid. And Koh Ker is one of the few pyramids in Cambodia you can actually climb, which we did. It’s not a difficult climb like some of the temples in Angkor since it has platforms for the different tiers. We also checked out another temple near Koh Ker, with trees from the jungle growing out of the temple, that we had all to ourselves with no other visitors!

We enjoyed our day trip to Preah Vihear with Panha so much that we asked him to do an additional half-day trip the following day where we visited Bantea Srei and Beng Mealea. Bantea Srei is a 10th century Hindu temple in Siem Reap with detailed carvings in red sandstone. Beng Mealea was one of my favorite temples in all of Cambodia as its a ruined temple engulfed by the jungle. You visit the site along a raised platform that follows the interior. With the large trees growing up and around the whole temple, it is almost entirely in the shade. Truly breathtaking!

We want to thank Panha for guiding us to these extraordinary places and creating such a memorable experience for our visit to Cambodia! Do reach out to Panha (Angkor Cab) if you want to enjoy private tours to some amazing places near Siem Reap!

First of all, don't make the same mistake I did. Just because Angkor Wat takes credit cards, doesn't mean that Preah Vihear or Koh Ker do. Cash is required! Thankfully my guide was able to help me get that situation sorted, otherwise it would have been a terrible day. As it was, the temples were amazing and our guide, Saruon Pal, was knowledgeable and engaging and helped make it one of the most memorable days of our trip.

Our guide Mr. Veasna was amazing. We are so happy we chose the private tour option, it was just my husband and me and we had the best time.

Mr. Veasna and his driver picked us up exactly at the agreed time, Veasna showed us around beautiful temples and went above and beyond to make sure we got great pictures. He always made sure we knew the history behind each place we visited (which is way better than just randomly walking around). We always had water and cold towels available from the driver and he made sure we got enough bathroom breaks at very decent places.

If you are considering the private tour option I highly recommend it. We usually do group ones but having a private one here is really worth it.

And, if you get a chance, I highly recommend you request Mr. Veasna as your tour guide.

The tour was great. Our tour guides Bun and San were fantastic in looking after us, finding the best spots from where to enjoy the sites, giving us time to rest and recover from the heat. They really made our experience pleasant and enjoyable and customised it to our needs. Beautiful trip!

Great organisation, perfectly managed by our driver San and our guide Jimmy. A big big thanks to them for making our holiday in Cambodia so easy. San was always on time, providing water and refreshed napkins when needed. Our guide Jimmy was extremely knowledgeable. He knows absolutely everything about the temples, the religious aspects and the Cambodia history. He shared also many information about the daily life in Cambodia. He is the guide that you must ask for !
Thanks a lot to San and Jimmy for their time and their flexibility.
Happy Angkor Tour will answer all your needs to enjoy the Angkor temples.
