Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- JR_EssexChelmsford, UK577 contributionsA very enjoyable day at RHS Rosemoor. My wife is an RHS member and we had previously visited all of the other RHS gardens around the UK. Each has its own character and the Rosemoor is no different. Essentially divided into two parts separated by an underpass under the A3124. The gardens are easy to explore using the map provided. There are a number of places for refreshments, we enjoyed the scones in the Wysteria Cafe! Most of the gardens are suitable for those with mobility issues. A very pleasant place to spend a day.Written 25 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Amy684Calne, UK4 contributionsThe museum is a wonderful place to visit. Full of informative friendly staff- who clearly know their subject. Beautifully laid out showcasing the towns history through the ages. There is also a very nice little book store inside, full of nice subjects. Would definitely recommend.Written 14 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Belinda B4 contributionsI love the pannier market. There is a small range of interesting shops including gift, antique, second-hand clothing (excellent value!!) and even a ukelele shop! The cafe is small but efficient and serves really nice food made to order - their egg and cheese bap is fantastic and there's always a nice selection of cakes. The service there is very good too. The gift shops all offer an excellent range of greetings cards, although most are in plastic, which is always disappointing.
Car parks are close and it's under cover so great in all weathers. Not all the shops are open every day, although I believe the cafe always is, as it seems to do brisk business - both sit down and takeaway.Written 26 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CBExeter, UK2 contributionsLovely warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff are always welcoming and helpful. I’ve visited by myself and with my son and had a fantastic time on every occasion. I’ve taken part in several family workshops as well as the pottery wheel taster session and have always been amazed at what can be achieved in the space of a few hours thanks to the expertise of the staff. It’s definitely a place that I’ll revisit for family time and me time!Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alan CGreat Torrington, UK87 contributionsLoads of history here, dating back to the 1600s, one of the final battles of the English Civil War when the Cavalier defenders were on their last stand here. Ammunition and Gunpowder were stored in the Church and suddenly a massive explosion following an act of treachery and the church was destroyed. It was of course rebuilt over the following years but there is a mass grave in the gardens for the defenders who met their end here.. Beautiful building, an acoustic gem and many concerts have been held here. I have had the pleasure of singing here at a remembrance service with the Torrington Cavaliers, a unique charity organisation who raise large amounts for local good causes. Magical atmosphere!Written 15 November 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

After several miles the chain on my bike came off the cogs but was very easily fixed. I think it could have been my fault as am not used to cycling and the gears. We cycled to Instow and stopped there for a drink and bite to eat. So far this bike ride and meal has been the highlight of our holiday.
Highly recommend this place for hiring bike. Friendly and helpful staff and a super cute dog.Written 3 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. She was so much fun and the lesson was so engaging. We got lots to eat there as well as take away with us. She also forwarded the recipes afterwards so we can recreate them at home. Would 100% recommend. Briony & Keir xWritten 12 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
