What travellers are saying
- Liz P1 contributionOur day out was perfect. We adults, and the children, had such a brilliant time. Everything was well-maintained, in great condition, well-manned, and the price meant excellent value for money. We can’t afford to do things like this very often at all, so we really appreciate the good price, and no extra hidden costs - aside from the jeep rides - which were low cost and SO worth it! Also, your openness to picnics means that it was more affordable for us, so we really appreciate the family-mindset there. Thank you!Written 26 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MBAYLESBURYAylesbury, UK44 contributionsGardens that keep on giving, and a worthy tearoom. More on that in a moment.
Comparison should not be made to Waddesdon... Ascott has been a "lived in" home until now. Waddesdon was a custom built gentleman's pad from another era of decadence. The house contents here belong to a current family, and some art works were up for auction on a previous visit I made a few weeks before. Perfectly acceptable for a family home. We're lucky to be allowed in at all to be honest.
Intriguing gardens, managed beautifully. And so many nice surprises around corners and through gaps in hedges! Really neat in every direction you look.
And when we visited on Sunday 1st October, a busy tearoom staffed by just two excellent and efficient people. Orders taken, and good coffee made by the young lady on the till, and a young gentleman in the kitchen delivering superb quality sandwiches.. and possibly the best quiche I've ever eaten. We ate happily, tipped properly and wandered into the gardens contentedly.
Can't ask more. Thank you Ascott HouseWritten 7 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Gave us instructions in a very easy way, with plenty of back up if needed. Canal boat and facilities on board were very clean and had everything we needed,Written 10 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tony FCrawley, UK7 contributionsDid 2 hours on the 737 sim over the weekend, and can't recommend it highly enough! If you're at all interested in aviation and/or what's going on in the pointy end of the plane that's whisking you away on your holidays, then you're going to have a great experience.
Mark is a really excellent teacher and the sim's clearly tuneable enough that it won't overwhelm, so don't be intimidated by the wealth of buttons, knobs and switches in that cockpit! You won't need any experience/knowledge to enjoy the flying. Within pretty short order we were making some really interesting landings into some fascinating airports (the highlights definitely being Kai Tak and Gibraltar).
Thoroughly enjoyed my two hours and they flew by (pun intended).Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BucksTraveller99Bucks, England155 contributionsI hadn't been to Parson's Close Recreation Ground for quite a few years, but when I went recently I was very impressed indeed with how what had always been a fun place for children to a really brilliant one. I definitely recommend it.Written 27 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- TOJLeighton Buzzard, UK29 contributionsNice little cinema with intresting choice of flims with a good little bar, would rather use than any big chain cinema.Written 29 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kathy KeeleyLeighton Buzzard, UK27 contributionsI have lived in the town for a long time and really like the market. Every Tuesday and Saturday traders reliably liven up our town centre with a variety of goods and value products. There are also farmers markets, french markets and craft markets at different times of year which are usually well supported by traders. It's not a high class fancy market but it suits the character of the town and brings life to the high street. People don't always buy a lot but that doesn't mean they don't value it. It brings life and colour.Written 20 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Perren1Keswick, UK12 contributionsGreat day out. Fun having to find all the hidden items. Some are rather obvious (like the giants pencil in Parsons Park) and others more hidden (such as the shadow of a cat sitting on one of the bollards on the high street or the painting of the borrowers on one of the walls surrounding Leighton Middle school because that is where Mary Norton the author lived). Remember to collect your prize at the end. Brilliant for young kids.Written 13 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DunelmArtsAberdeen, UK1,139 contributionsThe bluebell wood in early May is just stunning. There are several different tracks to follow through the bluebells to get the best views of the flowers. After heavy rain, the tracks can be quite muddy, so wear appropriate footwear.Written 7 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
