Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A great day out with lots of activity for the kids. We visited during the Easter break and they had a 'Alice and Wonderland' experience on. I didn't know what to expect with the experience but hats off to them, the actors/actresses were brilliant, it was great fun!

Highly recommend visiting mead open farm.

Gardens that keep on giving, and a worthy tearoom. More on that in a moment.

Comparison should not be made to Waddesdon... Ascott has been a "lived in" home until now. Waddesdon was a custom built gentleman's pad from another era of decadence. The house contents here belong to a current family, and some art works were up for auction on a previous visit I made a few weeks before. Perfectly acceptable for a family home. We're lucky to be allowed in at all to be honest.

Intriguing gardens, managed beautifully. And so many nice surprises around corners and through gaps in hedges! Really neat in every direction you look.

And when we visited on Sunday 1st October, a busy tearoom staffed by just two excellent and efficient people. Orders taken, and good coffee made by the young lady on the till, and a young gentleman in the kitchen delivering superb quality sandwiches.. and possibly the best quiche I've ever eaten. We ate happily, tipped properly and wandered into the gardens contentedly.

Can't ask more. Thank you Ascott House

The Grand Union Canal flows from Little Venice and Brentford in London to the heart of Birmingham. There are branches to Leicester and Wendover as well. The canal was the main way to get products from these two centres until the railways arrived and the canals were soon relegated.

Nowadays they are mainly used for leisure purposes with towpaths becoming good places to walk, run or cycle on your own or with family, friends or pets. The canals are also primarily there for leisure purposes with people owning narrowboats and also hiring them for a week or a day.

I visited the Grand Union Canal and sadly encountered a group of people who were totally clueless on how to operate locks. They had managed to fill the lock but could not get the gate open as they were pushing the gate in the wrong direction and I had to direct them on how to open the gates.

I carried on with my walk and on my way back I encountered them coming out of a lock but they had left the gates open and more importantly they had left the paddles open on the bottom gates so potentially they could have emptied the canal.

I do believe that if people are hiring boats they should get a proper tutorial on how to operate locks so everyone can enjoy the waterways.

Brilliant 1 hour flying a 737 simulator for a plane enthusiast, realistic including the plane noise. The pilot guided my son through what to do, he was great at explaining it all.
2 of us watched, sitting on stools in the simulator, initially felt anxious that it may feel claustrophobic as it’s a small, dark space but focusing on what was going on and knowing you can leave if you want to meant we stayed in there for the hour with no problem.

I hadn't been to Parson's Close Recreation Ground for quite a few years, but when I went recently I was very impressed indeed with how what had always been a fun place for children to a really brilliant one. I definitely recommend it.

Lovely this time of year with so many plants, weeds and grasses blossoming and helping all the wildlife. Easy to miss all this happening just under your nose

Nothing pleases me more than discovering a local brewery. This is a good find for me and the selection is good. The tap room is pleasant

Great day out. Fun having to find all the hidden items. Some are rather obvious (like the giants pencil in Parsons Park) and others more hidden (such as the shadow of a cat sitting on one of the bollards on the high street or the painting of the borrowers on one of the walls surrounding Leighton Middle school because that is where Mary Norton the author lived). Remember to collect your prize at the end. Brilliant for young kids.

The bluebell wood in early May is just stunning. There are several different tracks to follow through the bluebells to get the best views of the flowers. After heavy rain, the tracks can be quite muddy, so wear appropriate footwear.
