Canal Grande Venice
#1 of 1,568 things to do in Province of Venice
The best way to see so many of Venice's most gorgeous palazzi, where George Clooney was married, where Angelina Jolie stayed with Brad and the kids while she filmed "The Tourist", the Peggy Gugenheim Museum.
These smaller boats, gondolas, family-owned all wooden antique boats and skiffs all expertly navigate among large water buses and taxis, fire boats and an occasional water ambulance.

Views of the historic St Marco Basilica are amazing from this square and the historical architecture with hundreds of years of history makes it a excellent family friendly experience.
Venice is definitely one of my favorite city in the world, and I have been many times at different time of the year, with my children, friends or romantic trip ... I loved it all the way!

Although this city is a bit challenging with small children, if you need to reload, this always a great way, just pick less crowded time, live is all we need!
But there are really parts of Venice where tourists are not overwhelmingly present and there is charming local life with stalls selling vegetables and fish, children playing and quiet squares.

Nice to visit Museo Naturale with children, but also for adults, extraordinaire attraction with sharks and many other animals also of prehistoric times.
The exhibits are thoughtfully and beautifully presented - the whole family enjoyed this experience and would gladly go again.

After walking all over Venice, we would come home to this comfy family square and watch children run, elders walk, and mothers chat.
Being close to the university ther are young people enjoying the bars and benches, there are families with children kicking balls in the square, market stalls and often musicians busking.

Fantastic waterpark with plenty for the whole family-one drawback can be the qeues during the peak summer holidays but would go back again
For younger children there are a number of shows put on throughout the day - Peter Pan, pirates, limbo, jungle etc and there's also aqua gym and aqua bike sessions in one of the pools.

Lido Venice
#85 of 1,568 things to do in Province of Venice
Lido itself has a great beach all along the one side with very calm and shallow sea so perfect for kids.
Also ideal for families and the fact that you can just hop on over to Venice and have a coffee in St Marks Square and have a look around the shops and then go back to the beach later is perfect.
