On my last day in Taipei, I didn't have any plans for sightseeing, so I just grabbed some wonton noodles at a nearby spot, then headed to Daan Forest Park to chill out and wait for my airport time. The park is huge, super clean, with plenty of benches and pavilions for folks to relax. There are a few ponds in the park, with the largest one being a haven for lots of birds like herons and cranes — their calls echoed all around. Plus, there were some cheeky squirrels and brave pigeons getting up close with people. Near one corner of the park is the Daan MRT Station, a big one, with a nice café outside. Just roll your luggage into the station, hop on the train to Beimen Station or Taipei Main Station, then head straight to Taoyuan Airport—super convenient. Saying goodbye to Taipei with a refreshing morning in the park was just perfect.

Located near Dongmen market, so can cover both places at one go. A nice place with cafes, restaurants & trendy shops. Quiet peaceful atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) is celebrating its centenary. Shih Da, as it is universally known, was founded in the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945) to train teachers. It has since expanded into other areas, and it is known for its exceptional academic standards. Shih Da alumni will instantly recognize the landmark neo-Gothic Administrative Building, which was completed in 1928.

Fuzhoushan is a mountain in Taipei's suburbs. It's is a good place to get away from the city. Fuzhoushan is less crowded than Elephant Mountain, although the view is not as spectacular. It's a good place to spend a peaceful hour or so.

Fuyang Eco Park was once a munitions depot, which is why it remained untouched. It is a piece of land that remains much as Taipei was 100 years ago. There aere some relics remaining, it's a great place to step back in time,

This is a unique spot in Taipei if not in the world. It is a magazine library with over 20,000 magazines in many languages mainly around art, design, fashion, architecture. It's run by two lovely people, Spencer and Ken who will enthusiastically tell you about their business and their passion for allowing people a quiet space to relax and just sit and read without the distraction of wifi / telephones, coffee, food, snacks. You can buy a day membership or annual if you plan on visiting more often.
The building is also unique, as upstairs they have an acapella cafe with concerts and a beer tasting place. They are part of a community that want to appeal to all the senses.
Well worth a trip you won't be disappointed.
