Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Myself and my mum were unsure of trying to sport the turtles ourselves and just renting the equipment or going with Serranto’s team.

We are so glad we decided to go with the guide as even though the water is easy to swim in we would NEVER have spotted them without him. They were super camouflaged so he would tap us and make sure we could see the turtle. Very much recommend!

You can find them by going to turtle point on google maps. :)

One of our favourite beaches in the whole of Asia. Beautiful, fine sand with warm clean water and good size waves. Lots of small bars and restaurants nearby. Our favourite is Oh la la (reviewed separately). Some people also surf nearby but I'm not a surfer so can't say if it's good for surfing or not.

Perched atop a lush hillside overlooking the azure waters of Mirissa Bay, Coconut Tree Hill is a breathtakingly beautiful spot that promises panoramic views and unforgettable moments. From the moment you set foot on this iconic landmark, you're greeted with a sense of awe and wonder that stays with you long after you've left.

I gave this 4 stars based solely on its photographic opportunities. Visited at low tide as that is the preferred time to cross the short sandbar to the bamboo stairway. I made sure to hang on , on the way up. Not recommended for the disability impaired.
Pathways make it easy to navigate around the top. There is some seating where you can sit and just contemplate. But as I alluded to the taking of some great photos is the main objective. I was up and down within 20 minutes after getting my pics.

I walked out here from Marissa beach to get my steps in. Small private area with restaurant, tables & chairs and rammed with sunbeds. The area of water is akin to a rockpool but the swell does come through an opening catching many by surprise who occupied sunbeds close to the water's edge.
I sat at a table. I read another comment stating they charged for use of a sunbed which is not the norm.
The food prices are over the top as are the milkshakes & juices so I only had one coke (most I've paid for) whilst I was there. It is a unique setting for sure albeit an expensive one.
Finally, a tuk tuk back to Mirissa beach, a distance of 2kms cost 1000 rupees. Again another overpriced service. Been there done that won't ever be returning.

Dear Rukshan, thank you for this great experience here with you in Mirissa. Your style and especially your yoga shala in the middle of the jungle have enriched me greatly in the last month! Your yoga teacher training was a unique enrichment and will support my yoga career in the future. Best wishes, Marry!

Don’t let the modest appearance fool you ! This was one the best massages I have ever gotten. The perfect amount of pressure with extreme attention to every inch of your body! The natural sounds of the birds with the aroma of incense makes you forget about the heat of being outside! We are going back before we leave Sri Lanka !

Both me and my wife had a good massage here. Only male masseurs were available for our time slot (which was a short notice) but we didn't care.

We both had very sore back/glutes/thighs from excercising. Only downside was that they wanted us to keep our undies on, so, in my case, the work done on gluteus muscles were not optimal. (I was wearing boxer brifes). My wife, who was wearing a thong, this wasn't that big of a problem. The guy who massaged my wife actually knew how to knead the glutes very well, and he took liberty in 'adjusting' the thongs as necessary. ;)
