Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is pretty much something for everyone in Dotombori, with a special emphasis on FOOD! It is very crowded though, which is a turn-off for many people. Often difficult to get seating at restaurants or a spot to just have a beer. Cool to experience the energy and the glitzy neon.

Of all the castles we visited this was the only one we could go into. Not to be missed. Don’t bother waiting for the elevator if possible. Easier and faster to take the stairs one floor at a time. Each floor of the castle provides history of Hideyoshi Toyotomi and his era. Nice presentation. Beautiful view of the castle grounds from the top. Go early to avoid the big tours.

This is a very big park that span more than 2km across. Can take JR loop train from Osaka using the JR pass. There is a cruise along the river.

This is a must visit place in downtown Osaka where one can simply spend a day here to see, shop and eat! And the place is always fulled of visitors, adding vibes and vibrancy to the place.

In our recent revisit to Osaka, we also went there and as we were there early (around 10am), it was not that crowded then but in about an hour's time, it's packed with people.

Lots of cafes, restaurants, eateries, departmental stores, among the boutique, pharmacy and convenience stores are in the area and so you need not worry where to shop or eat!

The main feature here is food -- lots of choices and variety. Of course, there are also various entertainment attractions and the neon lights to energize visitors!

We really enjoyed strolling through these markets. We arrive at 7:40 so about 20 minutes prior to most stall holders operating, but that was good we looked at what was on offer then went back through at 8am stopped and tried the ottoro which was not cheap but delicious. Then tried another stall sat down and had Eel on rice and squid on a stick. It was lovely not packed like the markets in Tokyo where it was soo busy that it was scary. If you like seafood markets and trying what is on offer this is a good place.

What an experience! I was absolutely blown away by the performance. The motions of the puppets were so fluid it almost looked as if they were alive. I had a seat with a great view of the tayū (the narrator) and the shamisen player. I recommend tearing your eyes off the puppets from time to time and observing the narrator who does all the different voices in a highly animated way.
Before seeing the performance check out the exhibition on the first floor and pick up the "Introduction to Bunraku" brochure which gives you an intriguing overview about the art form. The staff was lovely and very helpful and could support you in English as well. Make sure you catch a bunraku show when you're in Osaka!

An interesting museum set over four floors, starting at level 10. There are some great look outs to the modern and ancient castles, which are great.

It’s a small/short bridge which allows you to cross to either side of the waterway. This way, you can check out all the eateries in either side of the water. It’s very busy and crowded but an incredibly fun area!

A tiny temple nestled in a very busy area. But as soon as you enter the temple you won't really notice the hustle and bustle. The temple is not extraordinary, but its a nice & peaceful place. We also happened to witness a ceremony there. Don't forget to sprinkle on the beautiful moss-covered Fudo Myoo and make a prayer/wish. It's quite a lovely sight. I somehow took a liking to Fudo Myoo (no idea why) and went to see it again another day.
