Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Jen SWaltham, MA13 contributionsMassage was excellent and very reasonably priced. My masseuse Sara listened to my concerns and did a great job on my back which was very stiff from the long plane flight. They are hard to contact though, the website book now option didn’t work. Thankfully the concierge at the hotel was able to contact them.Written 12 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah P2 contributionsMy boyfriend and I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott and had a couples massage booked at Sirena which is in the hotel. Roxy and Maribel were fantastic. There was a mix up with our appointment time and they were incredibly accommodating and gave us an extra 30-minutes on our massage.Written 10 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eileen G1 contributionMy husband and I did a 75 minute couples massage. It was wonderful. They used a lemon grass scent oil which was invigorating. They massaged my head, face, hands, fingers, feet, toes, and off course legs, arms, and back. Nothing was missed. And the touch was perfect; just the right amount of pressure. I can be ticklish at times, but this was perfect. I highly recommend it!!Written 28 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cassandra AMassachusetts5 contributionsMy boyfriend and I booked a couple's massage in the outdoor cabana during our trip and it was amazing. Gloria and Jody were our masseuses and were the best, extremely friendly and highly trained. The prices were extremely fair, especially for being at a beach resort. After the massage we both got champagne and access to the amenities for the day, which included a cold plunge, steam room, sauna, showers, and snacks.Written 14 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bradley RRichmond, MO19 contributionsAmazing staff! We had 2 couples massages and a pedicure during our week stay. We had Isabella for the pedicure and one of the massages. She was amazing at both services and so kind. She did great massage with good deep pressure. Mercedes was our other massage therapist. She was amazing. Good deep pressure very experienced and knowledgeable. I am a chiropractor with extensive experience in massage therapy and these 2 ladies are amazing. The facilities are very clean, and very relaxing environment. Maybe a little more expensive than massage in town but the availability, convenience, and knowledge of the staff made it worth it to us!!Written 14 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nikki K7 contributionsAbsolutely amazing experience at the Ritz Spa! I booked an 80 minute Divi Divi massage with Divina, she provided an amazing service, very relaxing. The entire spa has great amenities, I used the steam room and jacuzzi before my treatment. It was not very busy, providing a calm and relaxing experience the entire time. I visit many spas on my travels and for all that you get, it’s a great value for the price. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Aruba!Written 13 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dana MNew York198 contributionsVisited during our honeymoon stay at Barcelo. Made reservations in advance - don't recall the package I booked but it was a couples massage and treatment that would last about 90 minutes in total. They wanted to up-sell me on some other services but I denied them. We really didn't want to spend all day in the spa.
The morning of we took our time getting ready and then headed to the spa. When we arrived they told us that they had tried to contact us and left a message in the room saying that our appointment had to be moved back because they were double booked! I specifically made it for early in the morning so that we could enjoy the rest of the day at the beach without taking up too much daylight in the spa. The manager assured us that she would make it up to us and asked us to come back in an hour. We were a little disappointed but headed to breakfast to waste some time (there was also no message in the room or on the voicemail).
When we came back we were given waters to drink while we waited for the spa to accommodate us. We were asked to pick oils for our massage and we sat waiting in the waiting room for about 20 minutes before we got our treatments started. Again a little disappointing but we were already there and it was already paid for. They took us into the back where we were given robes and keys for the locker room. We changed and were escorted into a room filled with pedicure chairs and massage chairs. We were told to sit in the massage chairs and were given a 25 minute chair massage as a courtesy for our inconvenience. I thought this was a little strange since we were there to get a real massage from a real person, kind of seemed like a waste of time to sit in a massage chair but it was a nice gesture. After this, we were brought into a couples room where our massages began. We were also told that they would add some additional time to the massage we signed up for as well as a few extra minutes for our hands and feet. The hands and feet part seemed to pass by quickly but the overall massage seemed to never end which we enjoyed. Not sure where our chosen scents worked their way in but they weren't really missed.
Even though we hit some troubles in the experience, the overall massage (what we really came for) was relaxing and a very nice time for my husband and I. Not sure if we would return to this spa specifically but the convenience of it being inside our resort couldn't be passed up on this trip. Pretty standard pricing that I think you'd find at any spa so I think it was worth our money as well. Left feeling very relaxed and rejuvenated.Written 1 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ann GRockport, MA49 contributionsI can't think of a trip to Aruba without a visit (or two) with Patricia. Her massages are the best ever. For past two years having been having facials too. There is nothing like a body scrub at this spa. You will go home totally refreshed. If you like being pampered by an expert, make an appointment at Essential.Written 18 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - travelingwithkids13Libertyville, IL39 contributionsFirst of all this is a review from services from a year ago. It was amazing, this place was beautiful. You change into your robe and enter this amazing inner garden area with the sunshine beaming through. You get comfy on a super soft lounge chair and take a deep breath. The massage therapist located us and took us into our rooms. I had a 90 minute aromatherapy massage and it was simply amazing. The room was a pinch on the cool side though (probably due to the early morning appointment). Afterward they greeted us with mimosas and a couple appetizers. We relaxed and chatted for awhile then went to change in the locker room, which was just as beautiful. Just wondering now what it is called and if it has the same reputation? I am having troubles finding it.Written 7 January 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Caitie H15 contributionsMy husband and I went to Purun for a couples’ massage while staying at the hotel. We requested the “Purun in love” service, which is a 75 minute massage followed by a beverage of your choice (champagne, mimosa or ginger tea.) Services were as advertised, thorough massage and ginger tea was tasty. However, the spa almost seems like an afterthought to the rest of the hotel. It is small, out of the way and consists of a lobby and two small massage rooms. If you’re looking for an immersive pampering experience you may be disappointed, but for a relaxing massage it is still worth checking out.Written 20 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
