Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

They communicated and picked us up outside the port. They had cold drinks, took us to a chocolate factory and got mangos for my kids. Waterfalls were beautiful and water was refreshing. Don’t recommend for kids under 10.

Overall a great day at Scape Park. We were picked up from our Punta Cana resort and took around 40min drive to Scape Park. We went on a Wednesday morning 9:30am, the park was fairly empty and did not have to wait in any lines. We decided to buy a lock for the lockers for $5, they are fairly small (fits one school backpack).

    Zip line:
    - We decided to start with the ecosplash zipline as it closes between 12pm-2pm. We were quickly put into harness and helmet and sent on our way. The Zipline included 5 courses (each with different heights and endings). It was my first time ziplining, the workers were mostly friendly and helpful. The rough landing at the end of each zipline did hurt a little. Note: wear a shirt if you have a sunburn, as the harness will dig into your sunburn and hurt.

    Hammock Swing and Rope Jump:
    - when you finish the zipline you will end where the hammock swing is located. You have to go around to another area to pick up life jackets first. the hammock swing was enjoyable with two different heights. We did this one multiple times. We did notice sometimes the workers are not paying attention and they might not put the hammock fully comfortably around your legs (few times I had to fix it while moving so I don’t fall off). Also if the workers are not paying attention your ending might be a little rough. We enjoyed this more than the zipline.
    - the rope jump was a little scary. You swing down on a bar with your hands, when the workers blow a whistle your suppose to let go and jump into the water. However we saw a few people who didn’t hear or understand and kept holding on, this results in hitting a ring on the line and belly flopping into the water. If your not careful this one can hurt. A few acrobatic kids seem to really enjoy this one.

    Lunch:
    - before going to scape park we read lots of reviews saying how bad and expensive the food was. The night before going we decided to order hamburgers from room service and took them in ziplock bags along with chips and drinks from the mini fridge. We found this a perfect solution and helped to save money.

    Cave Swim and Hoya Azul:
    - please wear good shoes doing both. The trails leading to both attractions are quite rocky and hurt walking in water shoes.
    - cave swim was a cold but fun attraction. It is small cave so can get very crowded if busy but wasn’t too bad in the actual water, it was mostly the small walkway getting into the water that was busy (lots of families standing there and not exiting or entering the water). Wear water shoes on the water because the bottom is quite rocky and sharp in certain areas.
    - Hoya azul was a bit of a letdown. Looked much nicer in pictures. The standing area around the actual cenote had lots of wasps and spider webs. The jump was fun but got lots of water up my nose and ears.

    Bus back to resort
    - when we arrived at scape park our bus driver said to meet him back at 5pm, when asked if there was an earlier bus he said no only 5pm. After lunch, around 12:30pm we decided to go ask the information desk about the bus back to resort again. We were informed there was one at 3pm but we needed to sign up. We gave all our information and told to come back to information desk at 2:50pm. At 2:50pm, we were given a little sheet to hand to a worker at the exit. There was a large group of people waiting when we arrived. The buses are split between various resorts in either Punta Cana or Cap Cana area. The worker would call out your resort name and you just had to board the bus and wait. The drive back took a little over 1 hour because we had to visit a few different resorts to let people off. This was much better option than waiting until 5pm. We recommend talking to information desk if you want to leave early.

    A few negative aspects:
    - There is another separate zip line called Superman Zipline. We were told by the information desk that you needed to make a reservation for that located right beside ecosplash zipline. When we went at 10am, we were told that the reservations for that morning were full and that we should come back at 1pm to make reservations. We came back around 12:40pm (earlier than what we were told) and were told again that the reservations for 1pm are full and will have to come back at 2pm. Annoyed at this point because at 10am we were told 1pm and then at 1pm told 2pm. The guy working the station told us to wait around the area and he’ll see if he can get us. Tired of wasting time we decided to leave for other attractions.
    - WASPS all the wasps all over the park; everywhere you went there was wasps (trails, waiting on zipline, change rooms, restaurant seating, etc.)

This was such a fun experience. Prepare to be the dirtiest you have ever been. We brought a dry bag and a change of clothes, which was really nice to have after the ride. They said it was supposed to be like 2 hours but we were picked up at 9 and not back to the port until 1ish. Overall it was absolutely fabulous and so much fun. Just prepare to get very muddy!

They call you family and that’s exactly the way they make you feel, food and drinks are extremely cheap compared to our hotel and you have your own guide who takes you around in about groups of 10, ours was called chicken and believe me he was only young but a true professional, we got lost so he left the group and came and found us, above & beyond, exceptional day , well done chicken

This tour was amazing, the perfect mix of relaxation and history. Melvin is without a doubt the best excursion tour guide I have met. His team was equally as phenomenal.

While it was a long day, it was a perfect mix of the most beautiful beaches, that ended with snorkeling.

If possible I’d rate this a 10/5 for the hospitality, knowledge, and quality of tour that Melvin puts on. Next time we are here, this is the only Saona Island tour we will be booking.

My family who are all adults REALLY enjoyed this excursion. We got to taste the local coffee, Hot chocolate and their signature rum, Mama Juana. Afterwards we went to go see the squirrel monkeys and they were so cute! One fell asleep in our friend's hand! LOTS of photo opportunities and if you have any kids, you definitely will have to bring them here.

We had a great day going to Monkeyland and driving the buggies. We learned a lot at Monkeyland. The buggies were so much fun to drive. Juan, our driver and Matias, our tour guide made the day enjoyable. They were friendly and answered all our questions.

Great half day of snorkeling and sailing! We went on the 2p adults only half day cruise and opted for the lighter meal. It was very nice and we were lucky to have a small group and awesome weather! The crew was very nice and attentive. We started off snorkeling and saw a ton of beautiful fish, then went to a deserted beach to have coconuts, and finally shallow waters for swimming (after stopping at the cool cooking boat for lunch). Transportation to and from hotel went smoothly. They took pics and posted them for free online. Happy with our trip!
