All that was missing was angelic music and colorful flowers for it to be paradise!Written 5 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mdc979Boston, MA60 contributionsThis is a phenomenal beach. We got here late afternoon and parked on the street off Ocean Point Drive. The water here is really shallow so you can't really swim. You can walk out really far and still be only up to your knees. My kids really liked it (I did too.) We stayed to watch the sunset on the beach. It was really pretty, even though it was a pretty mellow sunset that day. The beach was really clean and we felt like we had way more space to spread out away from people than at other beaches we visited. We brought our own chairs and umbrella. There are no vendors on this beach, so you need to bring your own stuff.Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mdc979Boston, MA60 contributionsI visited this reef with my family (boys 10 & 14). This was a nice experience for snorkeling. We didn't want to commit to a half day snorkel tour, so this seemed like a good alternative since you could walk in to the water and the reef was right there. The reef itself was pretty dull in color, but the fish were nice and colorful. My husband and older son were even able to swim through a school of blue fish.
We bought snorkeling gear at Provo Dive shop, then came here with our sand chairs and umbrella (provided by our condo host). There was a vendor who was renting chairs, umbrellas, life jackets and snorkel gear for cash. We parked down the street and walked to the reef. The path to the beach was really nice, through lush greenery, with the ocean peaking out from the other side. We ate lunch at Somewhere, which was the perfect spot.Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Windy but not cold - shorts and t-shirt weather.Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jamie B11 contributionsThis is a fun weekly event that seems to draw as many locals as tourists. Several local restaurants have booths and there are lots of tshirts and crafts for sale. Live music , beer and a party atmosphere.Written 11 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DanielChillicothe, OH45 contributionsThis beach is off the beaten path. Not slot around it and it appears to be a hidden gem. There are restrooms on site as well as a sailing academy. The beach was clean and there are water spickets to rinse sand off.Written 6 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Darwin WSioux Falls, SD12 contributionsThis was the most beautiful beach we found on T&C. You can do an excursion to get there but we rented kayaks from Big Blue Collective in order to have more freedom. Our party ranged in ages from 55 to 63 with moderate athletics abilities and we got a decent workout but made it out and back fairly easily. From BBC we kayaked east along the south shore of Iguana Island to the second large bay where many excursion boats had beached for swimming. We were the only kayakers and had many people ask us how to do the same thing. It was easy, $85 per person, several kayaks and one map and we were set. From that swimming beach on the south shore, we walked about 400 yards across the dunes to the north shore and were met with such a treat! The water was unbelievable even when we were standing on the top of a ridge looking at it. It took a while for it to sink in. The variety of rich blues was astounding. The surf was up and we were a little overheated from the kayak over so we decided to brave the waves. There was no rip tide but we had had to be on our toes to keep from being knocked over for the first 10-20 yards. Then we hit the sweet spot where the water wasn't too deep and we could bob in the waves without being pushed to shore. What a blast! I highly recommend it. If you see streaks of sand being pulled out from shore, that's likely a rip tide to avoid. We saw none so we just bobbed in the waves. That doesn't really do it justice. It was like being lifted up by a huge kite and then set back down only a couple yards closer to shore. Fantastic! We then had a picnic lunch on towels on the beach, then headed back to our kayaks. There was no risk of theft because thieves have no where to go, no way to tow them out, and would be to conspicuous. It's not even a consideration. We checked in advance to be sure a light breeze would be at our backs on the return leg. Do NOT make this drip if there's a strong wind out of the south. BBC staff will assess your skill level vs water conditions. If you decide to go via excursion, we heard prices ranging from $80 to $320 per person. Some included stops at Iguana Island and The Ark floating bar. No matter how you get there, Half Moon Bay will be one of the highlights of your trip.Written 9 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BobWellfleet, MA110 contributionsWe drove to this beach and parked alongside Long Bay Beach Road, just north of a villa called Sea La Vie. We were one of several families who parked along the road, which is not posted against parking, and we had no trouble. This is a public beach between a number of resorts and villas north and south. The resorts to the north rent kiteboards, jet skis and so forth, but these activities aren't close enough to be a bother. There were also horse riders, evidently also a paid activity from up the beach.
The water was warm, the sand soft, and we had a good time. There was no loud music and no annoying vendors. The negatives about this beach are the nearby large piles of discarded conch shells, apparently from nearby food services. The shells are scattered in the water, too. These shells are old, weathered, and lack color, so have no souvenir value. There is the usual packaging waste and drink containers common at other TCI beaches. So, four stars and not five.Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We rented a tandem Kayak from blue collective. Just showed up, no reservations. That being said I would recommend some experience in a kayak if you choose this, as you are crossing a busy boat channel. But if you are experienced kayaker, very doable and worth the short 30-35 min trip to the bay. We found a spot to land down a little way from the entrance and found a trail that took us to the other side where a beautiful bay was. We were alone for about 10 min before a tour group came. I would definitely pack a lunch and set up a spot on that bay again if you have time!Written 26 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
