- ShelleyVIRockSt. Thomas35 contributionsThe best beach in the Caribbean. The views of the water are magnificent. It's located in the national park. We love St. John it's the idyllic Caribbean island. We took the Red Hook ferry over from St. Thomas. It leaves on the hour from each island. We had a great time, everyone was so friendly.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Emily L2 contributionsFood and shops right across from beach. Limited parking lots or park on side of road. Bathrooms available. You can see turtles and other wildlife. It's the perfect place.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FlyershockeyPhiladelphia, PA38 contributionsSpectacular beach. Very short cab ride from Cruz Bay. In fact, exited ferry, walked to North Shore Deli, loaded up on food and drink and easily found a cab to take us the approximate 3 miles to Cinnamon Bay. Clean bathrooms. Changing area. Chair rental. Absolutely amazing experience.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MRBR_CTRidgefield, CT43 contributionsThis is a fun hike in St. John. Last year, we did this hike to be at the top of Ram Head before sunset, strongly recommended if you don't mind waking up early. Great views of the moon to the west and the sun rising to the east. This year, we got started on the hike around 8am. From the parking lot, it's around 2.6 miles round trip. We are in reasonably good shape in our 60's and it took us around 1 hour 20 minutes taking our time and taking pictures along the way. Add another 15 minutes at the top of Ram Head so the entire hike should only take a little over 1.5 hours. Note, it gets very hot and there is little shade so the hike will be a lot less enjoyable and likely will take longer if you leave after 8:30 or so. The trail is fairly rocky, lightweight hiking shoes or trail shoes or, at least, running shoes are recommended. Wouldn't do this in sandals.Written 20 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Megan J1 contributionThis is one of my favorite beaches to visit on St John! There are no crowds, parking could not be easier, and the beach is beautiful. This is a private beach but the owner is there all day and all that is asked is a donation. They have paddle boards and kayaks available to rent for unbeatable prices! Truly one of the greatest gems on St. John. Huge thanks to Thalia for sharing her little slice of heaven with us.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - speg75Boston, MA63 contributionsGreat beach with beautiful views - concessions were crazy expensive ($25 chair rental?) and even though we hiked there (about 25 minutes) it was more crowded than I thought it would be.Written 31 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laura LHudson, NH1,042 contributionsParked at Annaberg at 9am and walked about a mile around the bay on rocky shore to the rocky tip, dumped our backpacks and snorkeled way out and circled the whole island clockwise. Amazing!!! So much beautiful coral and fish! Amazing clarity. Saw stingray, barracuda, turtle, etc. AMAZING spot that didn’t disappoint!
Go early! We were the 2nd people there and by the time we left it was getting “busy”. Saw several goats on the trail.
What was our other favorite spot? Salt Pond bay! That’s for another review…Written 28 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Steep and somewhat rocky at the beginning and the end, otherwise relatively flat. Bring lots of water.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- John S1 contributionThis was an excellent trip to Crown Bay, St. Thomas and a lovely way to end our stay on St. John.
The ferry terminal is a quick walk downhill from Courtesy Car & Jeep in Cruz Bay. At round-about, take turn marked Caneel Bay and cross road at bottom into the terminal, where you can drop luggage and passengers at ferry terminal on the right and then return your 4WD and walk back. The ferry staff are efficient and friendly.
We enjoyed the views of St. Thomas on the way. We arrived at Crown Bay terminal on the 8:30 ferry in time for a nice breakfast at nearbyTickles. It is a quick cab shuttle to the airport and they wait there for pickups . We were thru checkin and in the airport waiting area 40 minutes after finishing breakfast on a Saturday in March! Suggest you book ferry in advance on-line. and use TSA pre-check, passport, global entry (need card) and skycap at airport. Your results may vary otherwise.Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Still, a decent spot with nice beach. I’d repeat Trunk Bay before I would do this again.Written 23 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We stayed near Coral Bay and the drive was not that bad. If you're coming from Cruz Bay it's a long drive. When we arrived around 2 the lot was completely full and we parked a little ways up the road along the side. It's a short hike to the beach and I was glad I brought my sneakers. The beach is on the smaller side but we managed to squeeze in. Now, the most important thing: the snorkeling was excellent. The reef seemed in better condition than those on the north shore, and the water was very protected (no waves or wind on the day we went). There were rays, turtles, and tons of fish. Tip - don't sit too near the trees because there were tons of tiny biting flies.Written 28 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kgreene2013York, ME335 contributionsMy wife and I stopped here yesterday morning around 9:15 or so. No problem with getting a parking spot in the lot. We unloaded our stuff and headed left towards little Maho. The beach filled up fairly quickly, but plenty of room for everyone without bumping into each other. The water was very flat and comfortable. After reading a chapter or so in my book, I went in the water and snorkeled. I headed west towards Maho and turned around when I got to the point. The sun was out so I good visibility during my snorkel. As it was our first day at a beach, we only stayed about 3 hours, so we didn’t overdo it.Written 8 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
