Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited with friends while here for a week. We’re all non-smokers so the only thing available in that main room is video slots, a bar, and food options.

The same bartender charged us vastly different amounts for a Corona. To play the machines you must have a players card. The manager credits the machine as it doesn’t accept money.

We really wanted to play the tables, but two steps into the smoking section was pretty intense. Overall the staff was friendly, but I don’t expect t we’ll go back. All part of the discovery of a new place.

Artl VallARTa is a wonderful art museum tucked away in the back part of the Zapata zone. When we visited it had 3 exhibits; downstairs were paintings by local artists of Puerto Vallarta; upstairs were more paintings, pottery/sculpture, and a weaving/imaging exhibit. The space was small but well laid out. There were few visitors, so we could wander and view as we wished. There was a large shaded terrace upstairs where we had a good time lounging, and tables and chairs in the courtyard where they have events. (They also run classes, but we were just there to visit the art.) This is a great way to enjoy PV far away from the noise and bustle of more touristy parts.

Decent casino and sports book in a mall.

You do need to have a players card to play slots or table games, so be prepared to have your id information taken down. they have a good selection of slots as well as blackjack and roulette (although they are not always open).

I went to bet on a game and play a little blackjack. Sports bet was quick and easy. Blackjack wasn't open when I went (nor were any table games). They told be they would open in 1 hour. Because of this I roamed around the mall for a bit and came back in 1 hour. then I was told 20 minutes. then 20 minutes later it was 15 more minutes... at that time they did actually open one table. I found out then that I needed a players card so headed over there, then you have to go to the cashier to get chips, then to the table to play.

one good thing is the limits were decent unlike the tiny 500 peso limit at the small casino near the malecon.

Dawn Nichol is a body worker extraordinaire. A Puerto Vallarta treasure. Now that I’ve found her, I won’t go anywhere else. She is trained in Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapy (PDMT) And I think that is her secret sauce. She has 35 years of experience working with professional dancers in Montreal. And it shows. Each time that Dawn works on me my body feels progressively better. I will keep going back again and again and again. I am a yoga and movement coach and I find that Dawn’s work is an excellent adjunct for my students. I have recommended her on many occasions. Thank you, Dawn, for moving to Puerto Vallarta, so you can share your gift with us!

Saw bombshell here with some friends on a rainy day. Seats were super comfy but it took over 45 minutes for the waiter to bring the popcorn and drink and the popcorn was like eating styrofoam that like much of mexican food was oversalted. I left 85% of it uneaten. Try something else from the extensive menu. My friend fell asleep because the seat was so nice and reclined right back so even sitting near the front wasn't so bad. Because it was rainy the theatre was full quite early.

We heard about this from an email since we had done a Taco Tour about 4 years ago. We decided to give it a try, as we are always looking for something “different” to do for a day. We booked online and communication from the company was excellent. Think the show Amazing Race, but just for a day in PV. We had a group of five, the largest you can have. We arrived at the Puerto de Luna hotel in the Hotel Zone at 9:45. The staff (and two other teams participating) were so friendly and helpful. One team all lives in PV, so we automatically think we have a distinct disadvantage. (They did win, but they originally thought they would have a cake walk and were impressed that we were always right on their heels! Finished only about 5 minutes behind them.)

We get checked in, picture taken, backpack with water and a snack and all “essentials” for the race received, listened to the rules and then the race begins. I can’t tell you where all we went as they would have to change everything, but you travel all over PV in the hotel zone, downtown and south side. Along the way, you learn things, do a challenge, are forced to ask locals for help, and see and experience things you normally may not. Be prepared to do some walking! They say the race can take up to 5 hours, but we finished in about 3. At the finish line, they feed you a light lunch and give you a beverage of choice. We chatted with the Vallarta Race staff and the other teams. Everyone was so nice. The staff really wants to make this a top notch experience and go out of their way to do so. Eric and Memo are wonderful.

If this sounds up your alley or ever wanted to be on the actual Amazing Race show, I highly recommend it. I would do it again when I know they change the route.

Make sure you pay $22mx to get the card. Once you have the card, all movie tickets are $29mx. We love coming here to watch movies.

Massage, manicure and pedicure all done to perfection! This has so far been the longest lasting manicure I have ever received in the 40 + years of PV vacations! Claudia maintains a beautiful shop and welcomed me with the warmth of an old friend.
