What travellers are saying
- Tracy P3 contributionsAmazing beach! We paid a deposit to rent chairs and an umbrella that went towards our lunch and drinks. The only issue was the sighting of a water snake!Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ruth F35 contributionsIt was a nice moon ride from Madeira Beach over to Los Gatos. However, we were disappointed when we went to the very end of all the restaurants and the beach there was full of rocks. Made it a little tough to swim without having any protective footwear. Something to be aware of when you go.we went on a Wednesday so it was not crowded. The water was wonderful and we did have a very good time.Written 7 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - oliviaCalgary, Canada11 contributionsI found this place on the internet before our stay and glad I did. I emailed back and forth a couple times with Laurel before our visit and she was very helpful. We didn't have a car, but we took the minibus and then it was about a 15 min walk on a dirt road so quite easy! We had a private tour for about one hour with a lovely guide who was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. They weren't doing boat tours at this time, but the guide said they would be in a few weeks. They are doing great work there and we were glad to visit.Written 7 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tinybutterflyCalgary, Canada73 contributionsWe spent 8 days at an air bnb on this beach. There were 10 people ranging in age from 10-75. We were about a 25 min walk from the town of Barra de Potosi. We had a wonderful time being on the beach. Maybe 2-3 walked by our place each our, max. Often you could not see anyone. Sand was soft and beach was cleaner then expected. Kids (10&13) did some boogie boarding without issue ( in life jackets with full adult supervision) but this isn’t the best playing beach for little kids as the surf can knock you over. The ocean caught one adult’s prescription sunglasses when she was knocked over by a wave.
If you find logging here, be prepared to rent a car or stay put. We had a chef who came with our rental and who also provisioned the place in advance. We also hired a driver and did a trip into town and to the ‘Mega’ supermarket for extra drinks and snacks. Return trip from Playa Blanca to the golf course in Ixtapa was over $80 us.
Barra di Potosi is a small town at the southern end of the beach with 3-4 restaurants- plastic chairs, open air kitchen, non- North American food handling practices. We walked around, grabbed a couple of things from their mini marts and left.
Overall we love playa Blanca and would stay here again in a heartbeatWritten 11 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nice walking male on and centre square where you can watch the locals play basketball or listen to music. Good array of restaurants.Written 13 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WinasonSeattle, WA8 contributionsDid this with me, my wife, and three boys (ages 13, 10, and 7). The ride starts off in a small coastal town, you then head out onto the beach, then to a lagoon, and then out into the forest. Our kids really enjoyed it, and our pictures look great. Highly recommended!Written 28 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- stan m35 contributionsA great view of the true town of Zihuatanejo. The fisherman bring in their catch daily in the early morning. Fish of all shapes and sizes.
As was noted, this is right next to Plaza Municipal, a large outdoor basketball court where concerts and events are held at various times, normally on weekends, normally starting at 7pm and going for an hour or two. When we were there, there was live music on Saturday night and on Sunday night was students and troupes doing folk dances. It was packed. There are food stalls Thursday through Sunday evenings.Written 29 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Families show up on the weekends and you'll notice that, but still not too many people.Written 7 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ugo CReykjavik, Iceland757 contributionsWe walked up and down the malecon and were positively surprised. The place is clean, there are lots of stores and vendors, and lots to see. We enjoyed the walkWritten 16 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- stan m35 contributionsThis is right down close to the pier, which is a great place to visit, where the fishermen sell in the morning. There are also exhibitions, music, dance and other at the plaza on Saturday and Sunday nights, Dec-April. Great people watching. Also food stands Thursday evenings-Sunday evenings during tourist season. Lots of locals; everyone very friendly.Written 1 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- IdahoGirl83716Boise, ID346 contributionsThis is not a huge museum, but they have created a beautiful display area that tells the story of the area. Wonderful artifacts! The only suggestion I have is to make the signs in English as well as Spanish, so English-speaking visitors can appreciate the wonderful history of the region.Written 25 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kelly WKelowna11 contributionsThis event was a most wonderful experience. We had no idea what to expect and all we can say is WOW. Very well organized, affordable public events and the most amazing talent. Can't wait to go back.Written 20 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
