It is living historical village where you can ride train and steam boat, all staff dressed in western historic costumes. We also visited mine, bought delicious bread in bakery. They have fun rides for kids. Amazing ladies at Synagogue gave us very interesting information, which we posted on our YouTube channel "Plaisir Travel". It was fantastic day to spend at Heritage Park, highly recommend.

We visited Calgary Zoo early in the morning when animals are most active. We saw camels ripping bag with food and taking from each other; lions roaring to mark their territory; black bear with white fur claiming to the pole; another bar was just setting like meditating very close to us. Penguins were fun to watch. We created a video and posted on YouTube channel "Plaisir Travel". Fun place to spend day with kids.

I have to write a little disclaimer and preface: I am an introvert, not a rodeo fan, not entirely comfortable with huge crowds, lots of lights & noise, and late night entertainment. But that being said, going to the Calgary Stampede and some of its surrounding events was an interesting, entertaining and fun experience. There were around 140,000 people on the grounds the day we went. We attended the rodeo, chuck-wagon races, bareback relay races, the evening show and the fireworks and laser show. We also spent some time on the midway, mostly people-watching, as I don’t do carnival type rides and games, but we ate food, looked at exhibits, and walked around seeing the sights. There were additional entertainments and activities available that we didn’t participate.

The rodeo featured excellent competition in all the normal rodeo events. The announcing was interesting and informative. My favorite parts were the chuck-wagon races and bareback relay races—both very exciting competitions! The evening show was long, loud and bright for my taste, but featured a lot of good music and dancing. I was impressed with the production of the show. I very much enjoyed the fireworks and the lighted drones that were featured, forming shapes and animations among the firework displays. There were native tribal singers and dancers, which was also quite enjoyable. There was no shortage of food on the midway, whatever a person liked, it was probably there. Some of it sounded kind of strange, but many brave souls were partaking.

Going to all the events that we did made for a long day, arriving at the Stampede grounds at 11:30 a.m., and getting back to our hotel around midnight. All in all, I was glad that we were able to experience this event, billed as “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”.

From my hotel downtown, I walked about 4 miles around the park and along the river. Nice, clean, well-manicured with plenty of shade. Paved and flat throughout the park so easy for people of all ages to enjoy walking, running, and biking. It was not crowded at all on a Friday morning. Pretty bridges and sights of the Bow River. Easy access to downtown.

Pleasant walk along the river. Has a lot of bridges that links roads across the river. Joggers and cyclists are often seen enjoying the open spaces. Nice to see the geese and goslings roaming around.

These things all seem the same but I enjoyed this one. Many good views of the city and mountains off in the distance. Informative signs throughout. No line at all when we went the last week of July and not crowded at the top. It is not temporarily closed as the review says

Wow! Fabulous history of Canadian music, including Québécois, in a stunning setting at a very reasonable pay-what-you-can price of $15. There was a Buffy Sainte Marie exhibition with many artifacts covering the many aspects of her career. The permanent exhibits included historical recordings and fun interactive stations. When was I ever going to have the opportunity to play a theramin?

We were here on a weekday morning around 10 am, and this "park" is spectacular. There is something for everyone - a wading pool for the kids, boats on the water in which to cruise, a playground, plenty of trails for dog walking and running, benches for contemplation and a small cafe which is superb. The cafe stocks delicious snacks, baking, light lunches and assorted coffee, and, the server was extremely pleasant and professional. This is a fantastic spot for anyone wanting a day or just a morning or afternoon away. Photographers as well will enjoy this spot, and parking is plentiful.

Stephen Avenue Walk is a wonderful place all year. It's a bit tricky when it's cold in the winter to enjoy it as much, but Calgary has inaugurated a couple of winter festivals, Chinook Blast and Calgary Glow, to make this amazing place more inviting at that time. The festivals are slightly different, but their operations overlap, and so to know more about them, you DO need to consult their web sites. It's brilliant for families with kids, adults who just want to see something unique, photographers, anybody who just wants to get out in on a winter's evening. It VERY well organized, washrooms, fire pits, things to see and do. If you live in Calgary, or are visiting, DO NOT miss Stephen Avenue Walk during the winter festivals!

When COVID protocols were in place and indoor dining was not allowed, my friend and I would meet, bring a coffee or buy one at Annie's in the Park, sit with our chairs, social-distance and enjoy the beautiful setting and outdoors.

Very interesting architecture, loved the color, so different from the other river bridges and walkways. A lovely way to walk across the river and into the city.

    Calgary Military Museums:
It was a great museum. Detailed and interesting displays and artifacts. A good review of Canada’s Armed Forces from land, sea and air. The staff were really helpful and answered all of our inquiries and questions. Many of them were experienced veterans with their added knowledge and wisdom.
There are many things to see and I wish I had more time there. You need about half a day or more to cover all of the exhibits.

Fabulous to have them reopen for 2021 - missed them in 2020. Great vendors and good social distancing and COVID protocols in place. Thanks.
