Very nice bus, and as the tour operators don't control the weather I understand why we didn't see any aurora. Still a nice experience!

We were lucky to see the Aurora Borealis on the bus right after we left, the first stop was very beautiful and strong, the second stop the Aurora Borealis was lighter, and the third stop started with no Aurora Borealis, but later on we were very lucky to see the Aurora Borealis dancing and even three colors. Peipei is a very cheerful person and did a good job, and in the middle of the trip we saw the frozen lake and experienced the ice splash. The driver was also very conscientious and opened the door in every second we wanted to get in and out of the car, every second counts in extreme temperatures.
We'll recommend it to family and friends.

I recently joined a Northern Lights tour in Yellowknife, and it was an unforgettable experience! The tour was well-organized, with a comfortable shuttle picking us up from our accommodation and taking us to a prime viewing spot away from city lights. Our guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the aurora, providing interesting insights into the science and legends behind this natural phenomenon.

The location was stunning, with wide open skies offering a breathtaking view of the Northern Lights. We were lucky to witness some beautiful lights. The tour also provided warm drinks, a heated shelter, and even photography assistance to help capture the magic.

Dressing warmly is a must, as temperatures can be extreme, but the overall experience was absolutely worth it. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Yellowknife—it's a once-in-a-lifetime sight!

This was an awesome tour that I would recommend. Our guide Evon was very friendly and attentive, showing care for every guest on the tour. The Hotel was also very nice (better that I expected honestly) fairly new and comfortable, the only thing that would need to improve is the food quality at the restaurant (stayed at the Chateau). I would take the same tour if I were going to return.

I had an excellent experience with this family run business. The family is friendly and inviting. The dogs are well cared for and the ride over the frozen lake was just beautiful. Highly recommend.

This was really well organized and well run. It was REALLY cold at -35 when we went and that is right about when they stop doing the tours due to temperature for the dogs safety. Or so I understood. Anyway we bundled and bundled but still the fingers were freezing. So didn't get as many photos taken by me that I would have liked but the guides were fabulous about getting photos for us. It wasn't a long tour and in that cold it was sufficient. We both got a turn at "mushing" the sled, they pause halfway through to do a swap out if the participants so choose.
The entire time can take about 3 hrs and the sledding is only about 30 mins. You can get photos etc with the dogs before and after. They will pick you up from your hotel and that is what takes a fair amount of time. Also the required safety and use review as it is needed and required obviously.
Would recommend and would absolutely do it again, just without the level of cold.

WOW, what an amazing experience. We started off by snowshoeing across the frozen lake, and after a short and pretty hike through the woods we ended up at the Ice Cave. Our guide Bill gave us both excellent instruction on snowshoeing and interesting information on the traditional uses and history of snowshoeing, as well as information on the frozen lake, the local area, and the formation of the cave. The cave itself was super cool and very pretty, and after ample time for playing and pictures we began the snowmobiling portion of our tour.

Once again, Bill (joined by Inga) gave us excellent instruction on the operation of the snowmobiles. After a bit of practice to get used to driving them on the ice, we embarked on a beautiful, and thrilling, trip across the Great Slave Lake, across the Dettah Ice road, and up into the wooded hills outside Yellowknife. We drove through beautiful wooded trails and across more frozen lakes, and even had time to explore the expanses of a frozen lake on our own while our guides waited (and kept a watchful eye). Our guides were also happy to take plenty of pictures of us. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience - it was our first time on snowmobiles and it was exhilarating and and absolute blast, but we also felt comfortable and safe the entire time. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough - Bill and Inga are super-friendly and are wonderful guides, and the tour offers the perfect combination of relaxation, adventure, and thrill. Thank you Arctic Tours Canada, Bill, and Inga!!
